Formulation and Evaluation of Polyherbal Soap with Antibacterial and Dermatological Benefits: A Polymer Chemistry Approach
Abstract: This study investigates the formulation and evaluation of polyherbal soap composed of extracts from Vitex negundo, Azadirachta indica, and Curcuma longa. These plants possess significant antibacterial, dermatological, and skin-nourishing properties. The soap formulation follows a saponification process using coconut oil and sodium hydroxide as primary reactants, incorporating polymer chemistry principles in soap structuring and stability. Polymers such as polysaccharides and fatty acid chains contribute to the stability, viscosity, and foaming …

Physicochemical Analysis of Oil Extracted from Raphia Sudanica Fruit Sold in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, North Central Nigeria
Abstract: Raphia sudanica, commonly called Raphia hookeri or bamboo palm fruit, is one of the most valuable species among known palm fruits found in Nigeria and is widespread in major parts of West Africa. In this study, oils extracted and analyzed from Raphia sudanica fruits (pulp and seed) revealed the respective physicochemical values; acid value (5.56, 6.10 mgKOH/g), peroxide value (2.44, 5.82 Meq/kg), iodine value (41.30, 68.10 gI₂/100 g), saponification value …

Preparation of Methyl Esters of Solid Acids from Litsea Consimilis
Abstract: This study focuses on the extraction and characterization of fatty acids from the seed oil of Litsea consimilis and their subsequent conversion into methyl esters. The oil demonstrated high iodine and Reichert-Meissl values, indicating a significant content of unsaturated and short-chain fatty acids. Glyceride analysis revealed that trilaurin constitutes over 90% of the triglycerides, confirmed through melting point analysis and hydrolysis yielding lauric acid as the sole component. The oil …

The Impact of Extraction Conditions on the Trend of the Type of Red Onion and the Characteristics of Oil Harvest for the Use of Constraints
Abstract: The therapeutic potential of plant-derived medicinal products, including essential oils, has not yet been fully exploited. Many medicinal plants have been studied to provide the biologically active compounds on which most modern drugs are based. However, much more remains to be learned about their precise pharmacology. This is particularly important for essential oils which have such a concentrated but complex composition. This is the reason for the interest they generate …

Development and Evaluation of a Cost-Effective UV-Protective Cream Containing Para-Aminobenzoic Acid and Aloe Vera for Indian Climatic Conditions.
Abstract: The increasing incidence of ultraviolet (UV) radiation-induced skin disorders has heightened the demand for effective, affordable photoprotective agents, especially in countries with high sun exposure such as India. This study aimed to develop a cost-effective and efficient UV-B protective cream formulation suitable for populations in Indian latitudes. Para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) was selected as the primary sunscreening agent due to its high UV-B absorption efficiency, low toxicity, and affordability compared with …
