The Efficacy of two Organic Droppings (Poultry manure and Cow dung) on the Development, Nutrient Status and Yield of Radish (Raphanus sativus L.)
Abstract: A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of two organic fertilizers on the growth, development, nutrient status and yield of radish (Raphanus sativus L.) The experiment was carried out in a Randomized Complete Block Design with three treatments (Poultry manure, Cow dung and control) and were replicated twice. The findings of this study indicate significant differences (P<0.05) in response to the different organic fertilizers applied. Hence, the growth …

Qualitative and Quantitative Yield in the Radish Crop Through the Utilization of rhizobacteria, Pseudomonas trivialis (L) and Earthworm, Eudrilus eugenae (L).
Abstract: The specific density of earthworm in soil and the microorganisms in soil are correlated with each other. The fruitful interactions among soil microorganisms and the earthworms in soil serve to orchestrate the process of improvement in the crop yield. The Pseudomonas trivialis (L) is a deleterious rhizobacterial species. This rhizobacterial species is recognized for the production of Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) (the plant growth promoting hormone). The present attempt deals …

Growth Regulatory Activities of Different Extracts of Few Ornamental Plants on Radish (Raphanus sativus) with Chemical Investigation
Abstract: AbstractAn experiment was conducted to study the effects of aqueous extracts of few ornamental plants viz. China box (Murraya exotica), Indian Medlar (Mimusops elengi), Parrot tree (Butea monosperma) Mussaenda (Mussaenda erythrephytta), Mast tree (Polyalthia longifolia) and Swamp tree (Thuja occidentalis) on the germination and growth of radish (Raphanus sativus) aqueous extract of Mussaenda plant extract showed the highest percentage of germination shoot length, root length and chlorophyll contents of radish …

Effect of Nitrogen Level on Growth and Yield Attributing Characters of Radish
Abstract: Radish is one of the well-known root crops that belong to family Brassicaceae. Its popularity could be due to its wider climatic adaptation, easy cultivation methods and wider ranges of its uses. The cultivar “Minow Early” was selected for experiment. Field trial was conducted on horticultural farm of Lamjung campus between October to January 2017/18 in Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications and five treatments to assess the role …

Statistical Optimization and Decolourization of Methyl Violet Using Peroxisdase from Radish
Abstract: Statistical optimization design based on Response surface methodology for the decolourization of methyl violet using peroxidase from radish (Raphanus sativus) was applied. Effect of four influencing parameters (pH, Temperature, Dye concentration, enzyme volume) on decolourization was studied using One Factor At a Time (OFAT) method. The factors were optimized using RSM based on Box- Behnken design and analyzed for its significance through Analysis of Variance. The optimized operating conditions for …

Biofertilizers: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
Abstract: India, being an agriculture-based country, there has always been a concern about crop improvement here. Chemical fertilizers increased crops yield, but eventually leached out soil, polluted water basins, degraded ecosystems, reducing soil fertility and thus causing damage to overall environment. Organic fertilizers are costlier and they released nutrients in the surrounding environment thus degrading soil and water quality and human health. Thus came into picture the use of GM crops …
