Revealing the Effect of Swift Carbon Ion Beam on Radiation Sensitivity of Radio-frequency Magnetron Sputtered Grown Alumina Thin Films
Abstract: Regarding targeted treatment, hadron therapy is beneficial than conventional radiotherapy based on X rays/gamma rays due to characteristic energy loss profile of energetic charged particle during ion matter interaction. In this regard, dose monitoring and its precise measurement with spatial accuracy are very crucial. Thermoluminescence (TL) based thin film radiation dosimeter has the potential to serve this purpose. In hadron therapy, use of swift carbon ion beam is found to …

Effect of Radiation Dose, Dose Rate and Annealing Temperature on Edible Potato Starch by Spectroscopic Methods
Abstract: Potato starch (PS) is a favorite food choice in different forms. During its storage and applications the PS is exposed to different radiations. In the present study the authors attempt to compare radiation effects (gamma and Electron beam of same radiation dose) in PS by Electron spin resonance (ESR) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) methods. ESR spectra of gamma irradiated PS appeared to have resolved shapes than the electron beam …

Machine Learning in Nuclear Medical Applications: A Review of Research Frontiers
Abstract: Nuclear medicine, encompassing PET, SPECT, and targeted radionuclide therapy, generates high-dimensional, quantitative data uniquely suited for machine learning (ML) analysis. This review synthesizes current research applications of ML across six key domains. Positron emission tomography (PET), single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and targeted radionuclide therapy are examples of nuclear medicine modalities that generate high- dimensional, quantitative datasets that are particularly well-suited for machine learning (ML)-driven analysis. These imaging methods provide …
