Dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV) Inhibitors – a promising oral anti-diabetic drug
Abstract: Dipeptidyl-peptidase IV (DPP-4) inhibitors inhibit the degradation of the incretins i.e glucagon-like peptide1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP). Incretins augment the insulin release by a blood glucose-dependent mechanism. Generally DPP-IV enzyme is responsible for inactivating incretins and this enzyme inhibition will prolong and enhance the activity of GLP-1 and GIP. DPP-IV inhibitors increase post prandial insulin secretion, decreases glucagon secretion and seems to have beneficial effect on cardiovascular system, …

Practical approach for Type 2 Diabetes: Role of DPP4 Inhibitors
Abstract: Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors (DPP-4Is) have become essential in managing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) due to their ability to enhance incretin hormone activity, which promotes insulin secretion and inhibits glucagon release. These agents effectively lower HbA1c levels by 0.5–1.0%, are weight-neutral, and have a low risk of hypoglycemia, making them suitable for a broad patient population, including the elderly. The antidiabetic market in India is vast. Gliptin as group row …

Novel Nanotherapeutics for the Management of Diabetes
Abstract: Diabetes is a severe chronic disorder with hyperglycemia, either due to dysfunctional pancreas(Type I) or due to malfunctioned glucose utilizing entities like: liver, straight muscle or adipocytes (Type II). Type 1 or Insulin-dependent/Juvenile diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus or Non-Insulin dependent/Adult-onset diabetes are the two broad classifications of diabetes. In case of type 1 diabetes injectable insulin is the major form of medication given and in case of Type …

Assessing the Clinical Efficacy and Safety of Semaglutide: A Comprehensive Study
Abstract: Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA), has emerged as a versatile therapeutic agent with significant potential in managing a range of diseases. Extensive research has demonstrated its efficacy in treating obesity, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and even neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s disease. This comprehensive review examines the principal outcomes derived from clinical trials that incorporate semaglutide alongside other GLP-1 agonists, with particular emphasis on the mechanisms underlying …
