Real-Time Crack Detection in Polymer Composites Using Embedded IoT Sensor Networks
Abstract: This study developed an embedded Internet of Things sensor network for real-time crack detection, localization, and severity assessment in glass–fiber-reinforced polymer composites. Four polyvinylidene fluoride sensors were embedded near the laminate mid-plane and connected to synchronized wireless acquisition nodes. Controlled low-velocity impacts generated graded damage states. Ultrasonic C-scan and optical microscopy provided independent labels. A compact multi-channel convolutional model processed normalized waveforms, spectral entropy, signal energy, and arrival-time differences at …

Influence of Bi2O3 on Physical, Optical and gamma radiation Properties of BaO-Bi2O3-B2O3-CuO and BaO-Bi2O3-B2O3-Fe2O3 glasses
Abstract: In this present work glasses with chemical composition 30BaO-XBi2O3-(69-X)B2O3-1CuO and 30BaO-XBi2O3-(69-X)B2O3-1Fe2O3 (X = 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 mole%) have been prepared and labeled as BBBC and BBBF series, respectively. Traditional quenching method was employed for making these samples. XRD diffractograms confirmed that the materials were amorphous. Physical, optical and structural properties were studied with the influence of Bi2O3 concentration. The density of both BBBC and BBBF series …

Thermally Regulated Polymer-PCM Composites for Efficient Solar Energy Harvesting and Storage
Abstract: This study investigates the development of high-performance; shape-stabilized polymer composites infused with phase change materials (PCMs) for thermal energy storage in solar energy applications. Polyethylene glycol (PEG-6000) was employed as the core PCM due to its high latent heat and suitable melting point, while high-density polyethylene (HDPE) served as the supporting polymer matrix to provide structural stability. One of the primary limitations of PEG-based PCMs is their inherently low thermal …
