Induction of Specific Cytotoxic Lymphocytes in Goats Vaccinated with Fractionated Antigens of Brucella melitensis 16M
Abstract: The present study investigated the ability of different fractionated antigens of Brucella melitensis 16M to induce cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. For this study, soluble Lipopolysaccharide and outer membrane protein antigens were fractionated by using gel filtration chromatography and found 6, 5 and 5 fractions respectively of each antigen. All the regions of antigens were analyzed for their ability to induce cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. This study investigated that SAG5, LPG1 and OMPG4 induce maximum …

Up-Regulation of TNF-α by Ethanol Extract of Moringa Oleifera in Benzene-Induced Leukemic Wister Rat: A Possible Mechanism of Anticancer Property
Abstract: Ethanol extract of Monringa oleifera (EMO) has been shown to possess anti-cancer properties in animal models. The mechanisms of action of its anticancer properties have not been fully demonstrated. We induced leukemia in two groups of seven rats each by intravenous injection of benzene chromasolv solution (0.2 mL) 48 hourly for 4 weeks. EMO (0.2 ml of 100 mg/mL) was administered orally by gavage, after leukemia induction, daily for 4 …

Clinical Significance of Immune Cells and T-cell Subsets in Lung Cancer
Abstract: Objectives: The aim of the study was to determine the clinical usefulness of pretreatment hematological parameters including neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes and immune T-cell subsets as well as calculated coefficients such as neutrophils-to-lymphocytes ratio(NLR),monocytes-to-lymphocytes ratio(MLR) and platelets-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)in patients with lung cancer. Materials and Methods: A total of 102 patients with lung cancer were prospectively analyzed. T-cell subsets were assessed by flow cytometry method. Peripheral blood was collected from 25 healthy …

Studies of Antiviral Activity and Cytotoxicity of Sphaeranthus indicus and Coldenia procumbens
Abstract: The presence of drug-resistant Human Immuno+deficiency Virus (HIV) is a major global concern and warrants the development of novel antivirals as alternative and inexpensive therapy. In the current study, previously unreported antiviral activity of aqueous extracts of two indigenous plants used in Ayurveda in India, such as Sphaeranthus indicus and Coldenia procumbens, against replication of HIV-1 (III B) and HIV-2 (Rod) in MT-4 cells was assigned. These extracts tested were …
