Thermo-Fluid Characterization of Corrugated U-Tube Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger with Polymer Composite Tube Wall: A Combined CFD and Experimental Investigation
Abstract: Shell-and-tube heat exchangers built with metallic tubes work well thermally, but corrosion problems, extra weight, and the inability to adjust the wall’s thermal properties through material choice remain genuine engineering headaches, particularly for corrosive or weight-critical applications. Over the past few years there has been a fair amount of interest in replacing metal tubes with polymer composite alternatives, since blending thermally conductive fillers — graphite nanoplatelets, boron nitride platelets and …

Thermal-hydraulic Behaviour of Corrugated Pipe Configurations
Abstract: Heat exchangers have a wide range of applications and can be found in a variety of different industries, including chemical reactors, nuclear power plants, and solar energy generation. It is required to do thermal optimization on heat exchangers in order to decrease the size, cost, and energy requirements of the heat exchangers while simultaneously improving their capacity to transmit heat. In these types of businesses, heat exchangers frequently make use …

Low Velocity Impact Behaviour of Corrugated Foam Sandwich Panel
Abstract: Composite sandwich structures, renowned for their high flexural stiffness and low weight, are widely used across industries such as aerospace, automotive, and marine. However, their durability can be compromised by impact-related damages, which affect both the core and face sheets. This study explores the performance of corrugated sandwich panels compared to conventional designs under low-velocity impacts. Using a drop weight impact testing machine, panels made from polyurethane foam cores and …

Corrugated Tube Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger Using Epoxy-Based Polymer Composite Coatings for Lightweight and Efficient Thermal Systems
Abstract: Corrugated tube geometries are widely recognized for their ability to enhance heat transfer through boundary layer disruption and secondary flow generation. In this study, a combined experimental and computational investigation is carried out to evaluate the thermo-hydraulic performance of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger incorporating corrugated stainless steel tubes integrated with an epoxy-based polymer composite coating and housed within a mild steel shell. Unlike conventional metallic systems, the present work introduces …

Computational Heat Transfer Analysis of Corrugated Heat Sink Fins
Abstract: AbstractTo find the behavior of heat transfer and thermal management of novel type heat sink fins, a CFD analysis has been carried out. Available heat sink designs are studied for the thermal management of electronic devices, concentric solar devices, LED’s, etc. Electronic devices emerged in last decade and thus cooling of electronic devices with the efficient solution is still immature. In this study, corrugated type fins are introduced and analyzed …

A Novel Technique for Improvement in Front-to-Back Ratio of MSA for WLAN/WiMAX using Corrugated Dielectric Substrate as a Reflector
Abstract: In this paper the design of a microstrip antenna (MSA) with corrugated dielectric reflector is proposed to improve the front-to-back ratio (FBR) and reduce the back lobes in radiation pattern of the antenna. The designed antenna operates at 5.8 GHz and simulated on CSTMWS’10 software. Simulation results show that proposed antenna has 21.8 dB higher FBR than that of conventional MSA.

Review and Analyze Low Cross Polarized Feed for Offset Parabolic Reflector Antenna for S-Band Application
Abstract: This study discusses the design of low cross polarized feed for offset parabolic reflector antenna and its application. Conical corrugated horn antenna consists of an input mode TE11 and the corrugation part requires a transition to HE11 mode for propagation. The paper presents the widely used design of TE11-HE11 mode converter i.e. Variable slot mode converter. Three different design of corrugated horn antenna is presented for optimizing the value of …

An Overview on Use of Plastic Waste as Road Construction Material
Abstract: The usage of plastic in our environment is expanding day by day due to rising population urbanization, evolution, activities, and changing in life manner. This waste plastic is spreading mostly on the land. This waste plastic is becoming hard job to decompose due to its non-biodegradable property. Eventually, plastics are not decomposed scientifically and potential to create soil, air, and marine pollution as well as water pollution. Therefore, the waste …

Environment- friendly Pavement Construction Using Plastic Trash and Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement-An Overview
Abstract: Plastic pollution has emerged as a significant environmental concern, with detrimental effects on ecosystems and human health. As a waste product contaminating air, water, and land, plastic poses a grave threat to the environment, perpetuating a global crisis. Its non-biodegradable nature means that once produced, plastic persists indefinitely, accumulating in landfills, water bodies, and natural habitats. This widespread accumulation of plastic waste not only compromises the aesthetic value of landscapes …
