Scheduled Charging and Discharging of Electric Vehicles for Charging Cost Optimization
Abstract: The growing number of Electric Vehicles (EVs) will have remarkable impacts on the power grid as it leads to the increase in total energy consumption. This increases the overall burden on the grid which would require new power plants. However, it is possible to minimize the impact by proper scheduling for charging and discharging of electric vehicles. In this paper, three optimal schemes have been compared i.e. global optimal scheduling …

Numerical Simulation and Characteristics Assessment of SPWM Based Permanent Magnet Motor Drive for Electrical Vehicle Applications
Abstract: In recent years, electric vehicles (EVs) have grown in popularity as the most practical alternative for helping to protect the environment and achieve great energy efficiency in transportation. Traction motors are the primary source of propulsion in electric vehicles. Excellent torque and power density, a wide speed range, high efficiency, and high dependability are all requirements. The most promising possibilities, which have been widely employed for EV (or hybrid EV) …

Integration of Electrical Vehicles in Demands Response Program
Abstract: Demand Response (DR) schemes can benefit greatly from the assistance that Electric Vehicles can offer (EVs). Electric vehicles (EVs) can operate as a burden on the grid, a source of electricity for the grid, or a form of energy storage. Utilities are able to regulate EV charging time and tariffs, collect EVs-specific metre data, and conduct DR programmes as a result of the smart grid enabling technology. In order to …

Smart Charging Station
Abstract: Wireless charging is a revolutionary technology that transfers power to electrical devices across an air gap, eliminating the need for tangled cords. It has become increasingly popular due to its convenience and effectiveness in powering gadgets. However, integrating wireless charging with current wireless communication technologies poses scheduling, power management, and technological challenges. Researchers are actively working on integrating wireless charging into various devices to meet the growing demand for this …

Low Performance of Tenement Rating As a Source of Local Revenue in Nigeria: A Case for Introduction of Property and Land Use Charge
Abstract: The 1999 constitution of federal republic of Nigeria in its fourth schedule 1(j), assigned local government councils in Nigeria exclusive function to assess privately owned houses or tenements for the purpose of levying tenement (property) rates which becomes a source of revenue for the local government councils. Over time, revenue accruing from this major and reliable source of internally generated revenue (IGR) for local government council has continued to dwindle …

Family Burden of Tuberculosis on Female Patients
Abstract: Tuberculosis (TB) affects mostly economically active populations in underdeveloped and developing countries, therefore TB can have far-reaching economic and social consequences among infected people and other members of their family. TB is the second leading reason behind death worldwide amongst communicable diseases. TB kills approximately 1 million women in a year and is chargeable for more deaths in women within the reproductive people. The burden assessment schedule (BAS) has been …

Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor Readout Integrated Circuit for Imaging Applications
Abstract: In this paper presents a novel continuous-time simultaneous-readout scheme for active imaging systems based on orthogonal modulation of photo detector signals. The superimposed-continuous-time approach presented here differs from the conventional scheduled-discrete-time scheme in that the photo detector signals are summed in a common bus concurrently and then converted to voltage levels for digitization. We illustrate that our proposed architecture may be profitable. Predominantly, in solicitations, the bandwidth necessities for a …
