Mass Production Tools and Process Readiness for Uniform Parts—Injection Molding Application
Abstract: A mass production always aims to produce uniform performing products. Production tools such as pressing dies, casting dies and injection moulds, play a significant role by producing uniform parts for achieving final products. Tool complexity increases when multiple cavities are present. These tools pass through several stages of quality maturation, before starting production, where the tool capability for part uniformity can be assessed, corrected and aligned to mass production variables. …

Polymer-Based Acousto-Optic Ultrasonic Sensor for Non-Destructive Evaluation of Dielectric Insulation
Abstract: A dual-polymer fiber-optic sensor for monitoring partial discharge (PD) activity in high-voltage polymeric insulation is presented in this work for non-destructive evaluation and dielectric testing applications. Dielectric weakness within polymeric insulation leads to partial discharge activity, generating ultrasonic acoustic waves that propagate through the medium. The developed sensing assembly comprises a conical polymer-based horn that gathers and concentrates the ultrasonic acoustic emission energy generated by dielectric weakness, and a single-mode …

Dentitia Praecox - A Report and Review
Abstract: Child development from conception through the first years of life is marked by many changes. Eruption of every tooth, either primary or permanent, follows a chronology corresponding to the date when it erupts into the oral cavity. Though these dates are established in literature, they are subject to small variations depending on the hereditary, endocrine, and environmental factors of an individual. The expectations about the eruption of the first teeth …

Effects of Variation of Active Region Radius on the Performance Characteristics of a Designed 1550 nm Al0.09Ga0.38In0.53As/InP MQW VCSEL
Abstract: AbstractIn this work, the performance characteristics of a designed Al0.09Ga0.38In0.53As/InP based 1550 nm top emitting multi quantum well (MQW) vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) has been obtained. By evaluating the attained result of different parameters of selected MQW VCSEL the peak material gain is obtained as 1652.3 cm-1. For 6.1 mA of injection current and 5.65 µm of active region radius, the optical output power of 31.37 dBm and …

Effects of Variation of Injection Current on Characteristics of a 1550 nm Semiconductor Laser
Abstract: AbstractThis work represents the prototype of both the analytical and the simulation based study on high speed communication system particularly high speed data transmission through optical fiber using 1550 nm InGaAsP/InP laser. In recent years, Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) are prerequisites for future ultrahigh data-rate systems. This paper represents an overview on high speed performance of the 1550 nm VCSEL. Using MATLAB simulation tool the characteristics of the …

Acoustic Characteristics of Person with Labial Cancer
Abstract: Oral cancer may arise as a primary lesion originating in any of the tissue in the mouth, by metastasis from a distant site of origin, or by extension from a neighboring anatomic structure, such as nasal cavity. Patients with tongue and lip cancer are particularly prone to speech and swallowing difficulties. The impact of labial cancer on speech relies on the area and size of growth. The present study was …

The effect of cooling time and colorant pigment on the dimensional accuracy of plastic injection molded closure
Abstract: Dimensional accuracy is a critical aspect of precision injection molding, with the products generally required to conform to set tolerances. Major causes of these deviations are reported to be related to the polymer material, part geometry, injection mold design, and process parameters. This study investigated the effects of material color pigment and its interaction with process cooling time on product dimensional accuracy. This study was conducted experimentally, where three levels …
