Electrochemical Recovery of MnO2 from Spent Alkaline Batteries
Abstract: In the alkaline batteries of Zn/MnO2, the electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD) is used as cathode that constitutes a very important part of household waste which contributes with heavy metals to the solid urban waste. This paper described the recovery of EMD by electro-oxidation on carbon cloth in acidic leached liquors from spent alkaline batteries. The maximum extraction for Mn and Zn were 43.68% (0.744 molL-1) and 56.11% (0.7321 molL-1) respectively. …

Carbon-Al Synergy: Investigation of Fiber Stacking and Orientation on the Mechanical Properties of Al-CFRP Metal Matrix Composites
Abstract: The current study examines the mechanical behaviour of Aluminum-Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (Al-CFRP) composites fabricated using compression moulding technique, a novel approach combining lightweight aluminium’s ductility with CFRP’s high strength-to-weight ratio. The polymer composites were fabricated by stacking aluminum alloy sheet of 0.5mm thickness and pre-impregnated by 12 layers of carbon fiber cloth of 200 gsm, with epoxy resin between layers, followed by consolidation under controlled temperature and pressure in …

Recycling of Waste Cloths for Greener Future
Abstract: The exponential development of fashion and textile industries around the world largely increase, the production of waste cloth has grown by a steep rate, presenting serious environmental issues in terms of landfill garbage, greenhouse gas emissions and waste depletion. Millions of tons of textiles are disposed of every year, and the recycling of waste cloth has become one of the critical solutions to a circular economy in the process of …
