Exploring Polymer Biocomposite as a Sustainable Filter for Water Treatment
Abstract: The present study explores the utilization of polylactic acid (PLA), a renewable polymer combined with surface-modified nanocellulose (SMNC), and pectin derived from Borassus flabellifer leaves and fruits respectively. Existing methods of filtration are synthetic and affect the environment and public health at an alarming rate thereby making biopolymer-based membranes a greener and effective approach for water treatment. PLA-SMNC-pectin biofilm was fabricated using 88.5 mg PLA, 3.5% (wt. % of PLA) …

Determining the Root Causes of Complications in Hemodialysis Maintenance Therapy
Abstract: As with peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation, hemodialysis has been considered one of the most effective therapies for the replacement of kidney function. While this helps to save patients with the disease by decreasing morbidity /mortality/ rates, this medication has some side effects. These may manifest during the dialysis process alongside the ongoing treatment. Avoiding these barriers becomes crucial for improving the patients’ prognosis in this context. We are going to …

Corrosion Measurement and Hardness Test of Magnesium-Tri Calcium Phosphate Composite Fabricated by Stir Casting
Abstract: Magnesium MMC is preferred in applications requiring high-quality materials and has replaced monolithic materials. Bio-implants traditionally used are titanium, steel, and nickel-titanium alloys, however, their removal necessitates surgery, which is costly and painful. While biodegradable 3D-printed implants are effective and eliminate the need for a second surgery, they remain expensive. After several studies to solve this issue, the development of biodegradable implants is considered. Magnesium possesses good biodegradable properties. An …

Progress of Zeolite in Water Softening Treatment
Abstract: In the discourse of water treatment, one naturally stumbles upon zeolite, a versatile mineral that plays a pivotal role in softening water. This indispensable process arises from the abundant presence of divalent ions, notably calcium and magnesium, which are notorious for contributing to water hardness, an issue that manifests as scale build up within crucial components like boiler and heat exchanger pipelines. The prevalence of scale not only compromises the …
