Density Functional Theory (DFT): Understanding and Quantifying Molecular Structure of 2-D Materials
Abstract: Density Functional Theory (DFT) has emerged as a cornerstone in computational chemistry and materials science, offering a powerful framework for predicting electronic structures and properties of atoms, molecules, and solids. By focusing on electron density rather than wave functions, DFT simplifies the many-body problem through approximations like the local density approximation (LDA) and generalized-gradient approximations (GGAs). The Hohenberg-Kohn theorems establish the theoretical foundation, proving that ground-state properties are uniquely determined …

Preparation and Characterization of PVA-MgO Nanocomposite Films
Abstract: In this work, Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticles (MgO NPs) doped with 3 g of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) at different weight percentages (0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 wt.%) using the solvent casting method, to fabricate thin PVA-MgO nanocomposite (NC) films. These films were characterized by (i) XRD, SEM, EDX, DLS, and Zeta Potential for morphological studies, (ii) FTIR spectra and UV-Visible techniques for spectroscopic studies and (iii) DSC for thermal studies. …

Heat Transfer Performance of ZnO- Ethylene Glycol- Water Nanofluid Using Thermal Lens Technique
Abstract: Nanofluids are engineered fluids used in advanced electronic systems for thermal management. Fluids with dispersed nanoparticles have exhibited remarkable thermal properties. Ethylene glycol (EG) and water mixtures are widely used in many industrial areas. This study investigates the synthesis and heat transfer performance of ZnO-EG, ZnO-water, and ZnO-EG-water nanofluids using a dual-beam thermal lens technique. ZnO is a widely used inorganic, UV-absorbing, multifunctional semiconducting material with applications in various fields …

Physics of Semiconductors and Electronic Circuits
Abstract: This study talks about the basic ideas behind semiconductor physics and how important they are for making and running modern electronic circuits. It starts with a look at intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductors, going into how charge carriers move, energy band theory, and how doping affects how well the electricity flows. Next, the conversation turns to semiconductor devices like diodes, bipolar junction transistors (BJTs), and field-effect transistors (FETs). The focus is …

Exploring the Luminescent Behavior of Dysprosium-Doped Halo-sulphate Compounds
Abstract: In essence, this study aims toward understanding the photo-luminescent properties of Dy³⁺ halogenated sulfates, viz., synthesis, characterization, and luminescent behavior of the materials. Dysprosium ions are introduced into the halo-sulfate matrices to investigate their suitability for solid-state lighting applications. The aim of the study is to explain the mechanisms of the photo luminescence of Dy³⁺ and study the influence of the doping concentration on luminescence efficiency and the thermal stability …
