Mucormycosis during Second Wave of COVID-19
Abstract: Adding more burden to such a challenging situation, mucormycosis, an invasive fungal infection, has seen a sudden rise in the number of COVID-19 patients. The second wave affects Indians greatly with a mysterious fungal infection. Here, we are reviewed the clinical pathogenesis, signs and symptoms and treatment. The findings here showed that the use of immunosuppressants to combat COVID-19 also increases the risk of contracting mucormycosis. Patients suffering from hyperglycemia, …

A Short Review on Mucormycosis/Black fungus
Abstract: The present article provides an outline regarding the mucormycosis, an angio invasive infection and an opportunistic condition with fungal infection that mainly targets the people who are with weaker immunity unable to fight with environmental pathogens due to other health related problems and people who are on long term medication and the present paper has been covered with all the information regarding the Predisposing factors, suspected diseased conditions, Targeted organs/tissues …

Mucormycosis: An Emerging Challenge among COVID-19 Patients
Abstract: Mucormycosis is a rare angio-invasive opportunistic fungal infection that has become an emerging challenge among COVID-19 patients. The higher incidence of mucormycosis among COVID-19 patients has been attributed to hypoxia, pre-existing or steroid induced diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, increased ferritin levels, and SARS-CoV-2 or steroid mediated immunosuppression. Other contributing factors include prolonged hospitalization with or without use of mechanical ventilators. The epidemiology and etiopathogenesis of this disease are still evolving. Once infected, …

Mucormycosis: Review on the basis of Diagnosis Treatment, Preventive Measures, and Recent Research Approach
Abstract: Mucormycosis is a fungal infection called an angio-invasive disease due to invasion of fungi of the order Mucorales and zygomatic species which causes tissue infarction and necrosis. The main aim and purpose of this review are related to the overview of Etiopathogenesis of Mucormycosis, mortality due to various types of Mucormycosis, recent advances in diagnostic and treatment methods, and their diagnostic preventive measures. It shows serious and worrying mortality and …

Host Invasion to Immune Evasion: Emerging Concepts in Pathogen Virulence Strategies
Abstract: Pathogens have evolved a wide repertoire of virulence strategies that allow them to invade host tissues, establish infection, and circumvent immune responses. From the initial steps of adhesion and colonization to complex molecular mimicry, antigenic variation, and immunomodulation, pathogens display remarkable adaptability. While traditional research has emphasized host cell entry and toxin production, emerging evidence highlights subtler and more dynamic strategies such as manipulation of host signaling pathways, subversion of …
