Studies on the Self-Assembly of Steroids and DNA Mediated by Naphthalene based Amphiphilic Block Copolymer
Abstract: Amphiphilic block copolymers have attracted considerable interest in pharmaceutical and biomedical applications, including controlled drug release, gene delivery, and biomolecular sensing. In this study, fluorescent amphiphilic block copolymers were designed to facilitate interactions with biological molecules such as DNA and antiviral agents, enabling their behavior to be monitored through fluorescence spectroscopy. Two novel block copolymers, poly(methyl methacrylate) - b - poly(dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate - co - naphthyl methacrylate) [PMMA-b-P(DMAEMA-co-NMA)] and poly(styrene) …

Eco-Friendly Elixirs: A Critical Review of Biosurfactants for Sustainable Wastewater Solutions
Abstract: Biosurfactants are the amphiphilic substances which are acquired from the remains of the living microorganisms and have attracted a lot of scientific interests because of their applicability in various fields. This review aims at reviewing current research and development on biosurfactants with special emphasis on their application in wastewater and oil. Biosurfactants being less hazardous to the environment are produced by microorganisms and works as a substitute for chemically produced …

Polymeric Micelles for Medicinal Plant Solubilization and Delivery of Bioactive Compounds
Abstract: This study involved the design, fabrication, and characterization of polymeric micellar nanocomposites utilizing amphiphilic block copolymers to effectively encapsulate and transport hydrophobic phytoconstituents. The selected bioactive molecule is curcumin, a polyphenol with limited water solubility. A polymeric system known as PEG-PCL was utilized to fabricate core-shell nanostructures by a solvent evaporation-induced self-assembly method. The resulting nanocomposites exhibited homogeneity and colloidal stability, characterized by a zeta potential of −18.7 ± 1.4 …

HYDROTROPES IN SOAP FLOTATION: A CRITICAL REVIEW
Abstract: In this study efficiency of soap flotation when the hydrotrope was used along with the flotation reagents especially collectors for different type of minerals is reviewed. It is known that for flotation of salt type minerals soaps are used as collectors. The soap collectors when used along with hydrotropes as promoters in flotation yielded better flotation efficiency along with the reduced usage of collectors (soaps). Hydrotropes the compounds that soulibilises …

Inhibitors for steel implements
Abstract: Oil and gas industries use corrosion inhibitors made of active inhibitor intermediate, carboxylic acid, demulsifier and surfactant in aromatic solvent, and alcohol. High pressure and high temperature oil well flow lines are made of steel pipes. These pipes are prone to corrosion from gaseous contamination, oil quality, flow rate, developed shear stress of turbulence, pump spar techniques, etc. Carbon dioxide to carbolic acid conversion at below 100oC temperature appears to …

DEVELOPMENT OF POLYMERSOMES AS MACROMOLECULAR PLATFORMS FOR NANOMEDICINE
Abstract: The conventional method of drug delivery is plagued with instability, low targeting and low bioavailability. A solution to these shortcomings is the use of polymer Somes, artificial vesicles that are produced through self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymer, and they are suggested as universal nanoscale carriers. They have stiff, tunable membranes (thickness = 2-50 nm) due to accurate control of polymer chemistry, chain length, and hydrophilic mass fraction (f), which allows …

Modern Biomaterials: Biologically Sensitive Hydrogel Materials
Abstract: Modern biomaterials and biological products are interacting at a more clearly defined interface. Hydrogels, a category of highly hydrated biomaterials, are significant. With interstitial voids that are up to 90% water by weight, hydrogels are made of elastic networks. They are created either physically or chemically by self-assembling building blocks that areeither created artificially or organically. Macromolecules in a range of structures, such as cross-linked polymers, entangled fibrillar networks, or …

Bio Solvent EOR: Performance Assessment of Plant Extracts as Asphaltene Inhibitor
Abstract: Changes in pressure and temperature during oil production and transportation most notably during CO2 injection for enhanced recovery could lead to changes in the oil composition and deposition of asphaltene. Deposition of asphaltene near the wellbore region, production tubing and production facilities could cause severe flow assurance problem. Physical removal of asphaltene is costly and in most cases it is not preferred. A more favorable option is to prevent the …

Isolation and Characterization of Rhamnolipid from Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Assessment of Biofilm Disruption Potential
Abstract: Biosurfactants are microbial metabolites bearing typical amphiphilic structure of a surfactant. This study is aimed at isolation and characterization of Rhamnolipid (RL) biosurfactant from Pseudomonas aeruginosa MTCC 2488. Characterization of biosurfactant was assessed by oil displacement test, foaming test, thin layer chromatography (TLC) and antimicrobial activity for the same was evaluated against planktonic/sessile microbes including Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Candida albicans.
