Optimized Utilization of Kota Stone Slurry Waste in Fly Ash–Based Geopolymer Mortar: A Taguchi-Driven Approach
Abstract: The large-scale generation of stone-processing wastes presents a critical sustainability challenge and an opportunity for value-added reuse in construction materials. This study develops a high-performance fly ash geopolymer mortar by partially replacing Class F fly ash with Kota stone slurry waste (KSSW) and optimizing the key mix parameters using a Taguchi design framework. Five governing factors—binder replacement level, NaOH molarity, sodium silicate–to–sodium hydroxide ratio (SS/SH), curing temperature, and alkaline solution-to-binder …

Durability Assessment of Geopolymer and OPC Concretes under Chloride and Sulphate Chemical Attack
Abstract: The main problems with durable concrete constructions are attacks by sulphates and chlorides on concrete. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate how the strength properties of concrete are affected by the incorporation of fly ash when exposed to environmental conditions involving sulphate and chloride solutions. In this research, geopolymer concrete (GPC) is utilized as a replacement for conventional ordinary Portland cement (OPC). The concrete composition is prepared …

Investigation of Sulphate, Alkali and Carbonation Chemical attack in GGBS-Based Geopolymer Concrete and OPC Concrete
Abstract: This study presents a comparative evaluation of the durability of GGBFS-based Geopolymer Concrete (GPC) and OPC concrete in rapid carbonation, sulphate, and alkali environments. All samples were subjected to three severe conditions are carbonation at 4% CO₂, 25°C and 60% relative humidity, exposure to a 10% sodium sulphate (Na₂SO₄) solution, and immersion in a 10% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution for alkali resistance. The durability characteristics were evaluated by the compressive …

Performance Evaluation of PET Strip Fiber Reinforced Concrete
Abstract: Polyethylene Terephthalate, commonly known as PET, is a petroleum-based plastic polymer that is widely used in the packaging of various commodities due to its durability, and poses a major threat to the environment. To tackle this scenario, the construction industry is researching all possibilities to incorporate this waste into concrete and enhance the properties of concrete. The present study evaluates the performance characteristics of M 30 grade concrete when reinforced …

From Waste to Strength: Hybrid Binder Approach for Sustainable M25 Concrete
Abstract: The growing demand for concrete in infrastructure development has led to increased cement consumption, raising serious environmental concerns due to high energy use and carbon dioxide emissions correlated with cement manufacturing. In this context, the use of industrial residues as partial substitutions for cement has achieved deep focus as a sustainable construction strategy. The current investigations experimentally explore the strength and quality performance of concrete produced using a hybrid binder …

Effect of Silica Fume on the Engineering Properties of Fly Ash-Based Geopolymer Concrete Using 100% Recycled Concrete Aggregate
Abstract: Construction and demolition (C&D) waste has generated an enormous amount in developing countries like India due to explosive infrastructures and increasing urbanization, causing numerous concerns regarding the environment and economy. Recycling of aggregate from C&D debris is a beneficial approach to sustainable development and a circular economy. In contrast, numerous drawbacks of the integration of recycled concrete aggregates are due to adhered mortar remaining on their surfaces, reducing the strength …

Polymer Based Optoelectronics in Clinical Application Treated with Sodium Fluoride and Aqueous Dimethyl Sulfoxide Solutions
Abstract: In polymer science, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and sodium fluoride (NaF) are frequently combined to dissolve, modify, or treat particular polymers, most notably in the processing of cellulose and the creation of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes. The viscosities, ultrasonic velocities, and sodium fluoride densities of aqueous solutions of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) have been measured at T=303.15, 308.15, 313.15, and 318.15 K. Fluorides (such as NaF or TBAF) help break inter-chain hydrogen …
