Study of Effect of Various Dielectrics on the Performance of Electromagnetic Bandgap Based Microstrip Patch Antenna Structure
Abstract: Here the effect of various dielectrics on the performance of microstrip patch antenna with underlying electromagnetic bandgap structure is investigated. This unique antenna structure suppresses the surface waves and reflects plane waves with no phase change and thus acts as a perfect magnetic conductor (PMC). Dielectric losses are reduced due to the presence of EBG structure and bandwidth enhancement is observed when compared to the non-EBG structure. The effect of …

Effect of Partial Ground Plane on the Microstrip Patch Antenna Performance for Wireless Sensor Networks
Abstract: Wireless sensor networks have a number of tiny nodes. Each node has the ability to communicate with its neighbors. The communication range depends on the type of antenna used. This paper analyzes the performance of microstrip patch antenna which suppresses the surface waves from the edges of the ground-plane of the substrate. The microstrip patch antenna is designed using a substrate of dielectric constant εr = 2.2 and loss tangent …

Metamaterial-Based Thermal Shielding Structures for Reusable Hypersonic Space Transportation Systems
Abstract: The rapid development of reusable hypersonic space transportation systems has intensified the need for advanced thermal protection technologies capable of withstanding extreme aerodynamic heating conditions encountered during atmospheric re-entry and sustained hypersonic flight. Conventional thermal shielding materials often suffer from high structural weight, limited adaptability, thermal fatigue, and degradation under repeated thermal cycling. This study proposes a novel Metamaterial-Based Thermal Shielding Structure for Reusable Hypersonic Space Transportation Systems, integrating engineered …

Comparative Analysis of Polymer-Enhanced and Conventional Magnetorheological Fluids in E-Bicycle Semi-Active Suspension
Abstract: In light of the increased use of electric bicycles as a sustainable transport means, various mechanical challenges emerge which were absent in traditional bicycles, primarily concerning vibration isolation and riding comfort. Indeed, hub motors, batteries and the entire drivetrain system produce dynamic excitations which passive suspension cannot handle effectively. This paper presents a comparison of conventional magnetorheological (MR) fluid and the polymer-based MR nanocomposite fluid within the context of semi-active …

Development of Compact RF Filters for Modern Wireless Communication Systems
Abstract: Modern wireless communication systems such as 5G, 6G, Internet of Things (IoT), satellite communication, radar systems, and smart wireless networks require compact and highly efficient RF filters for reliable signal transmission and interference suppression. RF filters are important components that allow desired frequency signals to pass while rejecting unwanted frequencies and noise. With the rapid growth of wireless devices and limited spectrum resources, the demand for miniaturized, low-loss, multi-band, and …

Degradation of Building Materials by Corrosive Pollutants
Abstract: Fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) is used for the corrosion suppression of reinforced concrete structures (RCS). One of the main issues with reinforced concrete constructions is corrosion. It interacts with acids, alkalis and salts to produce disintegration in building materials components. Pollutants and effluents speed up disbanding inside and outside reinforced structures. Bio-wastes come in contact of building materials to develop miro and macro-organism and these organisms release acid substances to …
