CMC/SWCNT Nanocomposites for Sustainable Smart Metering Sensors: Percolation-Driven Structure–Property Optimization, Experimental Validation, and Literature Benchmarking
Abstract: Biodegradable sensing materials are needed for sustainable smart electricity metering, yet cellulose/single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) systems lack a unified percolation and structure–property description. This study develops carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)/SWCNT nanocomposite films by solution casting, with SWCNT loadings of 0.0–5.0 wt%, and evaluates their electrical, mechanical, thermal, sensing, and biodegradation behavior. Percolation analysis of the insulator-to-conductor transition gave a critical threshold (φc) of 0.9 ± 0.1 wt% and a critical exponent …

Patterning of Carbon Nanotubes on Silicon Wafer Using Self-Assembly Techniques
Abstract: Nanotechnology is an emerging technology that enables scientists to develop new materials and products at the molecular level. A carbon nanotube (CNT) is a rolled sheet of carbon atoms, coaxially arranged in cylindrical shape. Single-walled CNTs are ideal quantum systems for exploring basic science in one dimension. To find use in electronics, single-walled CNTs need to be efficiently separated by electronic type and aligned to ensure optimal and reproducible electronic …

Effect of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes on Compressive Strength of Concrete
Abstract: The objective of the suggested study was to examine the possible application of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as nano reinforcement to improve concrete's compressive strength. Single-walled carbon tubes (SWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon tubes (MWCNTs) are two groups of cylindrical-shaped carbon allotropes known as carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Tests are carried out 7, 14, and 28 days after the MWCNTs are reinforced in M20 grade concrete at 0.02% and 0.025% (by weight …

Carbon Nanoparticles: Occupational Exposure and Genotoxic Effects
Abstract: The field of nanotechnology is revolutionizing today’s era by being the fastest emerging field. Though nanotechnology is the boon to the society, the potential toxicity of these nanoparticles should not be ignored as they can affect anyone from microbes to humans. The main focus of this paper is the toxicity of nanoparticles because people working in these areas, prone to nanoparticles are at high risk due to its toxic property. …
