Principles and Use of Analytical Transmission Electron Microscope
Abstract: At the beginning of the review the analytical Transmission Electron Microscope is introduced. Equipment, imaging, diffraction and use of analytical TEM are described. Electron path under magnetic lens is delineated, emphasizing the lens aberrations, diffraction, astigmatism and gun brightness. Selected area electron diffraction patterns of Al-Cu and Inconel super alloy are used to index crystallographic planes and to derive zone direction while basic sources of diffraction contrast are depicted using …

Assessment of Liquefaction Potential Index for Sylhet City considering Maximum and Average Amplification Factor
Abstract: Soil liquefaction often occurs in saturated or partially saturated silty or sandy soil when an earthquake generates dynamic cyclic stress in the soil mass, reducing shear strength and stiffness. This study aims to assess the seismic soil liquefaction hazard potential for Sylhet City using shear wave velocity profiles of 49 boreholes. Factor of Safety (FOS) was evaluated taking into account shear wave velocity and maximum intensity of surface acceleration corresponding …

A Comparative Study of Zinc Oxide Nano Particles Synthesized by Hydrothermal, Sol-gel and Thermal Decomposition
Abstract: In the proposed work, Zinc oxide nano particles (ZnO NP's) are synthesized using three different methods: Hydrothermal, Sol-gel and Thermal decomposition. The samples are characterized using X- ray diffraction (XRD), UV visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The XRD pattern exhibit single-phase polycrystalline nature of all the samples exhibiting the most intense peak at (101). The diffraction peaks are located at 31.80, 34.46, …

An Investigation on Influence of Gamma Irradiation and Doping on Chemical Structure and Optical Properties of Conducting Polypyrrole
Abstract: In this study the authors report on effect of gamma irradiation and doping (bromine, iodine and sulfate ion) on chemical structure and optical, electronic properties of poly pyrrole. Optical absorption spectrum of PPY shown absorption bands centered around 36.2.5nm (peak 1), 450 nm (peak2) and 525 nm (peak 3) positions Gamma irradiation resulted in broaden of peak A together with a band shift of 45- 525 nm and disappearance peaks …

Integrated Polarimetric-Interferometric Fusion for Heterogeneous Urban Signature Extraction
Abstract: Mapping heterogeneous urban environments using conventional Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) backscatter intensity frequently produces classification errors due to spectral similarity between sparse built-up features, bare soil, and dry vegetation a challenge especially acute in semi-arid Deccan Plateau settings. This research presents a dual-path Pol- InSAR fusion framework that integrates polarimetric scattering decomposition and interferometric coherence stability to extract heterogeneous urban signatures over Beed Taluka, Maharashtra (area: 1,561.31 km²). A temporal …

A multi-index remote sensing analysis for Characterizing water stress, and environmental indicators in Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Gujarat, India
Abstract: Water scarcity is a critical concern in arid and semi-arid regions, with implications for ecological stability, public health, and sustainable resource management. The Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Gujarat, presents a case where ecological fragility intersects with cultural and religious pressures. This study employs satellite remote sensing and GIS-based approach to characterize water stress parameters within the sanctuary. Key spectral indices along with Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) were integrated through …

Integrated Remote Sensing Indices for Assessing Pre-Monsoon Water Scarcity Vulnerability in a Semi-Arid Coastal Ecosystem: A Case Study of Barda Wildlife Sanctuary, Gujarat, India
Abstract: Freshwater availability fundamentally shapes the structure and function of dryland ecosystems, where evapotranspiration exceeds precipitation for most of the year. Protected areas in semiarid regions face intensifying hydrological stress from climate variability, growing wildlife populations, and resident human communities, yet systematic spatial assessments of water scarcity remain scarce for many critical habitats. The Barda Wildlife Sanctuary in coastal Gujarat, India, has recently become a secondary home for the endangered Asiatic …

Geospatial Measurement of Shrinking Lake Mead Using Multi-Temporal Datasets From 1987 to 2020 and Its Relationship with the Climate Change
Abstract: The study provides an overview of the relation between climate change and its harsh consequences, and thereby revealing evidence of extremes conditions such as drought. Lake Mead of USA is one such example which is a readily contracting lake. The reason is fast temperature increment, human exploitation, etc. therefore leading to jeopardized and devastating effects on life structure. GIS and Remote Sensing has emerged as an extraordinary key instrument for …

Urban Planning Mitigation Trajectories for Urban Heat Island (UHI) A Case Study of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India
Abstract: AbstractGlobal radiation related solair-temperature directly influences Urban Heat Islands (UHI) as the built environments and surrounding atmosphere cause increase in urban solair temperatures, the resulting temperature completely depends on the thermal properties of the exposed materials. Urban heat islands can lead to deterioration of flora and fauna, elevation of ground level ozone, health disorders and increase in building energy consumptions. The study area of Guntur region which is susceptible to …
