Comparative Analysis of Different Mechanical Properties of Banana Pseudostem Fiber and Pineapple Leaf Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite
Abstract: In this research, a hybrid natural fiber polymer composite is prepared using different combinations of banana pseudostem fiber and pineapple leaf fiber in a discontinuous reinforcement phase and epoxy polymer in a continuous matrix phase. For the preparation of the composite, the hand layup technique is used and important mechanical characteristics, namely tensile, flexural, and impact strength, are determined. The findings of this investigation represent that the highest values of …

Tailoring Toughness of Pineapple Leaf Fiber-Reinforced Epoxy Composites Using Halloysite Nanotubes
Abstract: This comprehensive study investigates the effects of halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) on the impact strength and fracture toughness of pineapple leaf fabric-reinforced epoxy (PALF/Ep) composites with an emphasis on sustainable material development. ASTM D256 and ASTM D5045 standards were followed in the fabrication of the composites. HNT weight percentages were systematically changed from 0 to 3wt% through using solution mixing and manual lay-up techniques, and vacuum bagging was used to obtain …

Flexural Response and Numerical simulation of Unidirectional Areca–Pineapple Leaf Fiber Hybrid Epoxy Composites
Abstract: The increasing demand for lightweight and environmentally sustainable materials has accelerated the development of natural fiber-reinforced polymer composites for engineering applications. In the present study, unidirectional areca and pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) reinforced hybrid epoxy composites were fabricated using a simple hand lay-up process. Before fabrication, the fibers were chemically treated to improve fiber–matrix adhesion and enhance the mechanical performance of the laminates. Four different stacking sequences (A8, A7P1, A6P2, …
