Induced-Fit Molecular Docking and Pharmacokinetic Prediction Studies of Two Phenanthrene Compound Series as Potential Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and Lipoxygenase (LOX) Inhibitors: Edema Reducing Prospects of the Emerging Candidates
Abstract: The existing explorative study involved determining the anti-inflammatory potential of two inter-linked series of phenanthrene compounds against vital targets such as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) (PDB ID: 3LN1) and lipoxygenase (LOX) (PDB ID: 1N8Q) by induced fit docking (IFD) technique, employing the Glide module of Maestro 9.1 software. In addition to it, the comprehensive pharmacokinetic parameters (all 33 critical aspects) were determined using the QikProp module. The study opened avenues for developing …

Mineralization of Phenanthrene by Paenibacillus sp. PRNK-6: Effect of Synthetic Surfactants on its Mineralization
Abstract: Paenibacillus sp. PRNK-6 isolated from a soil contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) was able to utilize 69.48% of phenanthrene (320 mg l-1) in 48 h. The effect of three synthetic surfactants namely, the nonionic surfactant Tween-80, the anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) and the cationic surfactant cetyltrymethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) on the phenanthrene mineralization by Paenibacillus sp. PRNK-6 was studied. Results showed that the effect of each surfactant …

A non-hydrotreated feedstock’s polyaromatic cracking under FCC industrial operating conditions using an equilibrium catalyst
Abstract: Catalytic cracking of non-hydrotreated atmospheric residue’s main polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs) in the presence of an equilibrium catalyst was investigated under industrial operating conditions. During the fluid catalytic cracking process, the catalyst that presented the key factor in hydrocarbon cracking (aromatic by hydrogen transfer reaction) quickly deactivated and compromised the process’s performance due to its acid surfaces and pores covered by the polyaromatic species. A deep study of the catalyst behavior …

Assessment of Indoor Air Pollutants with Special Reference to Particulate Phase Polyaromatic Hydrocarbon in Rural Villages
Abstract: Emissions from household stoves using traditional biomass fuels such as firewood, crop residue and animal dung could have a continuing contribution to air pollution and also have adverse health impacts due to emission of different toxic pollutants. The present study was carried out in 13 household kitchens in Thavarghatta located in Shimoga district to know the level of the total suspended particulate matter (TSPM) and particulate phase polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) …
