In silico Characterisation of Proteins of Glycyrrhiza glabra and Assessment of Nanoparticle Synthesising Ability of Closely Related Plant Species
Abstract: The main aim of the study is to analyse the proteins of Glycyrrhiza glabra using various bioinformatics tools. The proteins were structurally as well as functionally characterized using tools like ProtParam, SOPMA and SOSUI. NAD(P)H quinone oxidoreductase protein in Glycyrrhiza glabra was selected for evaluation and protein BLAST was performed. Primary structure prediction was performed to evaluate physical and chemical characteristics of proteins viz., Molecular weight, pI, etc. The secondary …

The Specificity of Purine Derivatives towards Xanthine Oxidase Enzyme and the Factors Affecting the Enzyme Catalyzed Reaction
Abstract: Xanthine oxidase (XO) is a molybdenum-containing enzyme catalyzing the hydroxylation of a sp2-hybridized carbon in a broad range of aromatic heterocycles and aldehydes. Further, it is a key enzyme in the last two steps of purine metabolism. Thus, the need for an understanding and developing unified reaction mechanism to minimize the amount of accumulated uric acid inside human body has led us to the present detailed study of the reaction …

Protective Role of Sulforaphane against Multiorgan Toxicity in Rats: An In-vivo and In-vitro Review Study
Abstract: Sulforaphane [1-isothiocyanate-(4R) -(methylsulfinyl) butane] is a natural dietary isothiocyanate produced by the enzymatic accomplishment of the myrosinase on glucopharanin, a 4-methylsulfinylbutyl glucosinolate contained in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, brussel sprouts, and cabbage. Exploring of this compound against various oxidative degenerative diseases such as hepatic, nephro and cardiac diseases is growing because of its anticarcinogenic and cytoprotective properties. In several invivo and invitro experimental paradigms proved SFN and its compounds …

Purificaton and Characterization of Laccase from White-rot Fungi Ganoderma sp.
Abstract: The main objective of this project is to characterize and purify the laccase (benzenediol: oxygen oxidoreductase) enzyme from white-rot fungi Ganoderma sp. The enzymes is purified by ammonium sulphate precipitation and dialysis and further purified by column chromatography. This laccase is run on SDS-PAGE and molecular mass is determined. Finally physico-chemical properties like optimum pH; temperature, inhibition and substrate specificity of purified enzyme is also studied.
