Experimental Study on Strength and Setting Time of Concrete After Modifying Workability by Using Molasses as Time Retarding and Plasticizing Agent
Abstract: Molasses is a byproduct recovered from the sugar refining process. Molasses can also be recovered from the paper industries. Here the waste floating on the surface of boiling sugar juice during the process of production of sugar is taken. Sugar content in such molasses slows down the hydration process in cement. This phenomenon increases the setting time of the concrete mix. Among the quantity of water added to concrete without …

Gluconic acid production from cane molasses using Aspergillus carneus
Abstract: Gluconic acid is a multifunctional organic acid, non-volatile, non-corrosive, non-toxic, readily biodegradable, with environmentally friendly properties. In this study, gluconic acid was produced from the treated molasses using Aspergillus carneus strain under the submerged fermentation. The parameters were studied using the four-factor, three-level Box-Behnken design using using Design Expert ® version 11. The acid produced was characterized using the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The optimum values of the parameters were …

Production of Levan, A Potential Low Calorie Sweetener From Low Cost Substrates
Abstract: Levan is a biocompatible and bioactive bio-polymer with good rheological and medicinal properties. Due to its high cost, it is beyond reach of commons. The current study deals with levan production using regional low cost substrates as carbon source which will help to reduce its cost. 10 isolates were obtained from a novel source i.e. soil from jaggery preparation area, from which three levan producing isolates were selected and identified …

Nanoyeast Supported on Silica Gel for The Continuous Flow Bioethanol Production
Abstract: Nanomaterials outperform their bulk counterparts. Yet, production of nanomaterials, especially, nanoyeast is a challenge and is an upcoming field. Yeast is a fungal strain that consumes carbohydrates (glucose, sucrose, molasses and the like) and produces bioethanol, a potential transportation fuel. Impregnation methods are well known in catalysis to yield nanomaterials via better dispersion. An attempt has been made to modulate the size of yeast to increase the efficiency of carbohydrate …

Low-cost Feed Resources for Sustainable Dairying: Exploring Conventional, Agro-Industrial, and Non-Conventional Feeds to Optimize Nutritional Adequacy
Abstract: This study explores the potential of cost-effective feed resources to enhance the sustainability of dairy farming by focusing on conventional, agro-industrial, and non-conventional feed alternatives. Rising feed costs remain a significant challenge =124ed5y7u-8 n dairy production, and optimizing feed efficiency is crucial for maintaining profitability and sustainability. Conventional feed resources, including roughages and pastures, provide the foundation for dairy cow diets, yet their nutritional content varies seasonally and geographically. Agro-industrial …

Nutritional Status, Bioactive Properties & Therapeutic Efficacy of Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids Obtained by Green Synthetic Routes
Abstract: Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), particularly omega-3 (n-3) fatty acids like eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), are crucial for human health. They support structural brain development, visual acuity, and cardiovascular function, while also exhibiting potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. Historically, marine fish oil has been the primary dietary source of these essential fatty acids. However, escalating concerns regarding ecological environmental impacts, the oceanic bioaccumulation of heavy metal contaminants, …
