Formulation, Optimization and Evaluation of Flurbiprofen Liposomal Gel
Abstract: The present study deals with effect of various combinations of lecithin, cholesterol, chloroform-methanol and tween-80 on liposomes of flurbiprofen. Optimization of the flurbiprofen liposomes by Design Expert software was done. Vesicle size, drug content, SEM and entrapment efficiency were evaluated. Flurbiprofen gel with optimized liposome using Carbopol 934 as gelling agents, were formulated. pH, spreadability and drug content in the gel were evaluated. Results of skin irritation study showed that …

Liquid Crystals as Novel Drug Carrier: A Review
Abstract: Liquid crystal is a thermodynamic stable phase characterized by anisotropic properties, generally lying in the temperature range between the solid and isotropic liquid phase, hence are termed mesophase. Based on the way that liquid crystals are obtained, they can be classified into two types—thermotropic liquid crystals and lyotropic liquid crystals. The thermotropic liquid crystal is generated by variation of temperature in the liquid state, while the lyotropic liquid crystal is …

Recent Trends in Ocular Drug Delivery: Challenges and Approaches
Abstract: Drug topically regulation can be accessed most easily in the eye. When given topically as eye drops, medication ocular bioavailability is quite low. Drug entry into specific ocular locations is complicated by the complex anatomy and physiology of the human eye. Research has long been interested in the topical administration of successful treatments. To provide a suitable ocular penetration and extend the duration of drug residence is their challenging task. …

A Review of basic Concept of Specific Drug Delivery System
Abstract: ABSTRACTThis review focus going on targeted drug delivery via Nanoparticles as a Special composition that couple a receptor site to a Nanosized , drug-loaded transporter as a budding means to get improved effectiveness of a drug at the site of significance. The conception of targeted drugs is not new, but since to 1906 while Ehrlich initial postulate the ‘magic bullet’. therefore is must to build up a appropriate drug system …

Hydrogel as a Drug Delivery System
Abstract: Hydrogels are hydrophilic three-dimensional, polymeric networks system. Hydrogel are hydrophilic system and capable of absorbing large amounts of aqueous solvent. It behaves like a semisolid system and generally follow non-Newtonian property. Hydrogel provide easy application, good spreadibility, non-grease, non-staining properly etc. Moreover, hydrogels can be converted to variety of forms apart depending upon the requirement including Newtonian and non-Newtonian slabs, microparticles, nanoparticles, topical gel, films etc. Hydrogels are commonly used …
