Amplification and in silico Study of Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium falciparum LDH Gene
Abstract: Several arsenal as well as quinolone drugs are available for treatment of malaria; still it remains a worldwide public health problem. Malarial parasite quickly develops resistance under selective drug pressure. Hence, we require an array of new drugs for malaria treatment. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an essential enzyme for Plasmodia as they lack functional Krebs cycle in some stages of their lifecycle and thereby prove to be good targets for …

Engineered Hybrid Nanoclay-Infused Nano-Polymers for Multifunctional Anti-Corrosive Coatings
Abstract: Polymer nanocomposites reinforced with layered nanofillers have emerged as an effective route to enhance structural stability in protective coating applications. Polymer–clay nanocomposites also provide a promising route to enhance mechanical robustness and environmental durability in coating systems. In this study, a hybrid epoxy–polyurethane (EPU) coating was reinforced using organo-modified montmorillonite (o-MMT) and layered double hydroxide intercalated with 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (LDH–MBT). Uniform dispersion and interfacial anchoring between the nanoclays and polymer chains …

Reference of Circadian Rhythm in the Treatment of Psoriasis: A Novel Insight
Abstract: The objective of the present study was to establish the needs for different products in the treatment of psoriasis with reference to circadian rhythm. The events like proliferation of keratinocytes and elastase activity are influenced by circadian rhythm. The proliferation of the keratinocytes occurs more during early hours of the day however, the enzymatic activities occur post to that. Psorolin ointment and Psorolin oil were studied for the cell proliferation …

Assessment of Serum Enzymes Level in Patients with Thyroid Alteration Attending Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Thyroid hormones exert their effect on all tissue and modulate the rate of metabolic activity. Alterations in thyroid function can affect the various organ system of body and perturb measures like AST, ALT, GGT, ALP, CPK and LDH. Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism have potentially fatal systemic manifestations. The main aim of study was to determine the relationship between thyroid alteration and …

Pyrethroid Mediated Some Macromolecular and Biochemical Changes in Freshwater Teleost
Abstract: Abstract In present investigation, a freshwater fish Channa punctatus was exposed for 21 days to synthetic pyrethroid malathion at sublethal concentrations of 0.007mg L−1 and 0.093 mg L−1 that represented 10% of the 96 h LC50 of the pesticide for this fish. Tissue samples were collected at the end of the experiment and analyzed to determine oxidant/antioxidants status (catalase, LDH, DNA content, protein content, cortisol, etc.) of the fish. Enzyme …

Gingival Markers as a Tool for Predicting Orthodontic Treatment: A Systematic Review
Abstract: To assess gingival markers as a tool for predicting orthodontic treatment is the main aim of this study. There is a continuous search for methodologies to asses or diagnose the periodontal associated disease, thereby providing a quicker and scientifically proven treatment plan. Clinical evaluation and radiographic reports were the main means of detection of any pathology or disease involving periodontium and the alveolar bone around it. Over the passage of …

Haemato-Biochemical Changes in Staphylococcal Species Induced Mastitis in Mouse Model
Abstract: In this study, haemato-biochemical changes in mouse mastitis by inoculating Staphylococcus epidermidis, S. chromogenes, S. haemolyticus and S. Aureus isolated from bovine milk was studied. Blood was collected by intracardiac route at 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h. Haematological changes noticed were: white blood cells (WBC) decreased in S. haemolyticus and S. chromogenes at 48 h; S. haemolyticus and S. aureus at 96 h. S. haemolyticus showed increased …

The Evaluation of the Light Parameters and Pleural Fluid Cholesterol to Determine the Differences Between Exudative and Transudative Pleural Discharge
Abstract: Background: Pleural effusion occurs when an imbalance between pleural fluid production and absorption leads to the accumulation of excess fluid in the pleural cavity. Pleural effusions are commonly classified into two types: transudative or exudative, depending on the underlying mechanism of fluid formation. While transudates typically result from systemic factors like heart failure or liver cirrhosis, exudates are usually caused by local factors such as infection, malignancy, or inflammation. Differentiating …

Alteration in Metabolic Enzymes of Albino Rats under Cadmium Stress and their Modulation by Mentha Piperita
Abstract: Cadmium is a heavy metal posing severe risks to human health without any physiological function in the human body. Cadmium is found regularly in soil, rocks and ores, thus natural exposure is an important aspect, but increasing industrial application has put it in the category of bio-hazardous metals. Anticorrosive agents, stabilizer in PVC products, colour pigments, neutron-absorber in nuclear power plants, the fabrication of nickel-cadmium batteries and Phosphate fertilizers carry …
