Numerical Simulation of Air Flow Field of A Gas Turbine Engine Air blast Atomizer
Abstract: One of the most crucial process that occurs before the fuel is burned in the combustion chamber is atomization. The performance of a engine will be depend mainly on the fuel mixture. Performance of the engine depends on atomization process because it breaks the bulk fuel into small droplets and injects it into the combustion chamber, in order to make this happen consequently the dimensions of most of the fuel …

Optimization of An Intercooler Used in Multi Stage Compressor Using with and Without Baffels
Abstract: Thermal and CFD analysis is done on the intercooler. CFD analysis is done under different boundary conditions. The materials considered for shell and tube intercooler are Aluminum, Titanium and Copper for thermal analysis and compared for better material. The input of heat transfer coefficient for thermal analysis is taken from output of CFD analysis. The intercooler's pressure gradients, temperature distributions, and fluid flow patterns can all be understood using CFD …

Experimental Investigation on Heat Transfer Characteristics of Thermal Barrier Coating on Aero Engine Components
Abstract: The gas turbine blades play a crucial role in harnessing energy from the high-temperature and highpressure gas generated by the combustor. To withstand this challenging environment, turbine blades often employ super-alloys and incorporate new manufacturing technologies such as Direct Solidification (DS) and Single Crystal (SC). Additionally, the development of advanced ceramic Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) is imperative to achieve higher operating temperatures (>1200°C). Therefore, the primary focus of this study …

Corrosion Characterisation of Low Alloy CrMoV Steel Before and After Cryogenic Heat Therapy
Abstract: Low alloy CrMoV steel is used in Turbine wheels, Distance pieces, Compressor aft shafts etc of Gas Turbines. Cryogenic heat treatment was used to examine the effects on the corrosion resistance of low alloy CrMoV steel. In order to eliminate residual stresses and boost wear resistance in steels and other metal alloys, cryogenic heat treatment (CHT) employs cryogenic temperatures (i.e., below - 190°C) to treat work parts. Cryogenic treatment is …

Synthesis of YSZ nanopowders by using PVA-metallic nitrate combustion method
Abstract: Yttria-stabilized zirconia (8YSZ) powder is widely used as a thermal barrier coatings material for various aeronautical gas turbine engine components and structures operating in high temperature environment as well as for the nozzle of solid rocket engine due to its relatively high thermal expansion coefficient, thermal reflectivity, low thermal and good corrosion resistance. The synthesis of single or composite metal oxides by combustion of metal-polyvinyl alcohol gel precursors (Me-PVA) has …

Micro Steam Turbines for Hybrid Power Source Vehicles
Abstract: The paper describes a new hybrid power system for vehicles consisting in an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) plus a micro steam turbine (MST) that supplies energy to an electric motor. The result of this hybridization is a reduction in fuel consumption and an improvement in performance efficiency. The micro steam turbine unit uses the released thermal energy from the ICE to generate water vapor flow, which is accelerated in a …

Energy harnessing solution using a vertical axis wind turbine installed on the automotive rooftop.
Abstract: The transportation sector plays a major role in greenhouse gas emissions, prompting worldwide initiatives to mitigate its environmental effects. While the shift from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles is growing, it often merely shifts emissions rather than eliminating them, as fossil fuels continue to dominate energy production. A comprehensive solution requires universal access to renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and hydro power, which is currently impractical due to …

Optimizing Power Generation from Building Ventilation Systems: A Study on Exhaust Fan Efficiency
Abstract: Due to population growth, the world's energy consumption has increased dramatically in both wealthy and developing nations in recent years, and by 2042, it is predicted to have doubled or more. Since a few years ago, the use of innovative sustainable power sources to meet energy demands has been gradually increasing. We've chipped away at a different idea because of this. As an alternative energy source, renewable energy (RE) resources …
