Study of Various Forecasting Models for Time Series Data Using Stochastic Processes
Abstract: The data which is in time stamped format is called as time series data. The time series data is everywhere, for example, weather data, stock market data, health care data, sensor data, network data, sales data and many more. Time series have various components due to which the time series data became complex. Trend, seasonality, cyclical, and irregularities, these are different components. As everyone is interested to know about future. …

Estimation of BOD of Banganga Nalla of Bhopal City Using Statistical Methods
Abstract: Water is a precious natural source without which life cannot be sustained. Surface water has been the main source of supply for all our purposes. It is also has been the most convenient sewer for industry and municipalities. Estimation of water quality parameters using statistical and other mathematical models are gaining importance because they give more rational basis for water quality planning. An attempt has been made in this paper …

Reducing the Bullwhip Effect in a Supply Chain using Artificial Intelligence Technique
Abstract: The bullwhip effect in a supply chain leads to various inefficiencies like excessive inventory, quality problems, higher raw material costs, and poor customer service, which can be reduced by coordination and collaboration among partners of a supply chain with time bound information sharing; it requires full integration. However, full integration of the organizations of a supply chain is not possible in real case scenario due to existing differences of functions, …

Demand Forecasting for Seasonal Demand Patterns: Case Study of a Pharmaceutical Company
Abstract: In this paper the authors have developed a heuristic model that addresses demand forecasting for products those follow seasonal patterns. The model is checked against various renowned forecasting methods by comparing forecast errors. The proposed heuristic model is found to give better results than the Winters’ and other exponential models. Non-linear optimization is used to choose the values of smoothing parameters rather than depending on human judgment or experience. This …

Fractional Riemannian Fuzzy C-Means with Time-Series Regularization for Economic Manifold Forecasting
Abstract: A fractional Riemannian fuzzy c-means framework is proposed for uncertain economic forecasting on non-Euclidean data domains. Observations are represented on a Riemannian manifold, cluster centres are intrinsic prototypes, and a latent fuzzy regime signal is regularised by both autoregressive and fractional-memory penalties. The resulting objective couples geometric clustering with time-series consistency, thereby discouraging partitions that are locally plausible but temporally incoherent. Closed-form membership updates, exponential-map centre updates, normal equations for …

Bio-Inspired FGPCs for Biomedical and Structural Applications
Abstract: Bio-inspired functionally graded polymer composites (FGPCs) represent a new class of smart materials that use gradient material distributions to enhance mechanical and biological properties, mimicking natural systems like bones, shells, and plant stems. FGPCs exhibit smooth gradient distributions across interfaces, which improves biocompatibility and reduces the risk of failure under complex loading and environmental conditions. In this study, bio-inspired FGPCs were designed, fabricated, and validated using a combined experimental and …

Damage Evolution and Delamination Resistance in Polymer Matrix Functionally Graded Laminates
Abstract: Functionally graded laminates (FGLs) in polymer-matrix systems represent a promising pathway to enhance damage tolerance and delay delamination in advanced structural composites. In this study, we explore the mechanisms of damage initiation, propagation, and delamination resistance in polymer matrix functionally graded laminates (PM-FGLs) through a combined experimental–computational approach. Laminates with linear, exponential, and bio-inspired gradation profiles were fabricated using vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) and additive manufacturing techniques. Comprehensive mechanical …
