A Ponder & Sedulousness Of Legion Shale Stabilizing Materials In Aqueous Based Drilling Fluid During The Process Of Borehole Strengthening
Abstract: Drilling fluid used while drilling the layers of shale will have the potential of reacting with water which tends to increase stickiness, induce swelling and promote sloughing of the borehole. This results in the reduction of drilling fluid circulation, increased mud loss, increase in torque and drag, reduction in lubricity. This will ultimately result in the increase of Non-Productive Time (NPT) during drilling which in turn increases Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) …

Experimental Analysis of the Effect of Fine Milled Husk of Rice as a Novel Filtration Control Agent for Water Based Drilling Fluid System
Abstract: Drilling operation is a complex process that requires integration of various engineering systems. As the drilling continues, the formation encountered offers challenges to wellbore integrity as pressure increases with depth. The influx of formation fluid is contained by the overbalance provided by weighted drilling fluid column. Another critical function of the mud is to restrict the filtration fluid lost to the formation by forming a suitable mud-cake around the wellbore. …

Breathing prediction of fracture deviated wellbore through flooding mechanism
Abstract: Wellbore breathing is a common occurrence during drilling operations, but the down hole mechanism and how it manifests itself in surface and subsurface processes, is not well understood. It often result in a drilling fluid gain at surface and are misidentified as a kick, resulting in unneeded shut in periods and associated non-productive time (NPT). Further, misidentification of wellbore breathing as underbalance often results in increases in mud weight, which …
