Multi-objective Optimization Methods for Various Power System Problems
Abstract: This article discusses numerous features of multi-optimization approaches as applicable to challenges relating to the optimization of power systems, such as optimum power distribution network reconfiguration, optimal distributed generator placement and sizing (allocation), optimal D-STATCOM placement and sizing (allocation), simultaneous network reconfiguration and distributed generator allocation and simultaneous distributed generator and D-STACOM allocation, are discussed. The related objectives considered in these optimization problems are also discussed with respect to the …

Impact Study and Electrical Analysis of JAYA and RAO Algorithms for Optimal Allocation of DG in Power System Networks
Abstract: Distributed generation (DG) must be positioned and sized at optimal levels for electrical power system networks to operate competently, affordably, and reliably. "Electrical power system networks" must function properly for optimal distributed generation to take place. Ensuring the secure operation of power system networks primarily aims to reduce active power losses and improve the overall voltage profile. The optimal distribution of distributed generation using JAYA, RAO, and optimization algorithms has …

Design Simulation of Improvement of Voltage Profile and Loss Minimization by Efficient Placement of Distributed Generation in Grid Connected System
Abstract: Electricity consumption is rapidly increasing, and the gap between generation and load is widening. The mismatch between demand and load causes a range of problems, including failure, low power, and, in certain cases, blackout. These issues will be solved by including Distributed Generation (DG) into the system. For maximum dependability, technological and economic benefits, and optimal size and capabilities of distributed generators, the proper distribution of power systems, kind of …

Distribution Power Loss Minimization by Network Reconfiguration and DG Placement
Abstract: AbstractThe paper presents an efficient algorithm for network reconfiguration associated with DG allocation to minimize real power losses in radial distribution networks. Selective Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (SPSO) is used to find new tie switches. Allocation of DG units has been done by new analytical approach. The proposed analytical method for optimal DG placement is developed based on a new mathematical formulation. DG type-I is used to solve the problem. …
