Experimental Investigation of Heat Transfer Enhancement Using Cross Inserts Having Different Pitch Rectangular Cuts
Abstract: This work presents experimental investigation of heat transfer enhancement using strip insert with cross configuration having rectangular cut. The heat transfer enhancement study in a circular copper tube of 10 mm internal diameter is carried out using three different inserts. The three inserts are of cross configuration with rectangular cuts of different pitches. The heat transfer enhancement in hydro-dynamically developed and thermally developing fluid region is studied. It is found …

Investigations with WDM Network using Optical Cross Connects
Abstract: AbstractOptical cross-connects are key part of the wavelength division multiplexed based optical communication networks. Accordingly, this paper is focused on the performance evaluation for the optical cross-connects. Here, WDM system for the non-return to zero with 100 GHz channel to channel spaced network has been designed. The optical link’s performance has been numerically simulated and successfully explored for the numerous key design parameters at 20 Gbps data rate. Investigations inferred …

Treatment of Migraine with Aura (Ardhavabhedaka) by Nasya and Shanshaman Chikitsa: A Case Study
Abstract: The most popular and efficient system of allopathic medicine provides quick response for the pain and other symptoms, but does not provide the complete treatment. My focus is the study of headache/migraine (ardhavabhedaka) with alternative line of treatment such as Ayurveda, because this stream is complete and provides holistic approach. A 42 year old male patient having complaints of recurrent severe headache and vomiting since 15 years, and diagnosis was …

Substrate Integrated Waveguide Bandpass Filter with Cross Slots and CSRRs
Abstract: AbstractA wide Bandpass filter using cross slots and CSRRRs at X-band is presented in this paper. Half power bandwidth of 2GHz is achieved with transmission zeros on both sides. The insertion loss in the entire band is better than -1dB. A flat group delay is observed in the entire passband. Keywords: Band pass filter, CSRR, SIW, SlotCite this ArticleP. M Anju, A.O Lindo, C.K. Critical Care Nurses’ Knowledge and Skill regarding Enteral Nutrition in Critically Ill Patients at a Glance
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Nasogastric tube feeding is the most frequently used method of enteral feeding particularly if feeding is to be used for relatively short period. The nurses’ knowledge and skill in the insertion of nasogastric tube, tube feeding and subsequently care of nasogastric tube are important in clinical area to ensure patient safety. A cross-sectional descriptive study was undertaken to assess the knowledge and …

Prevalence of Bacterial Colonisation in Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis: Experience from a Tertiary Care Centre
Abstract: Routine surveillance of patients on hemodialysis is necessary to prevent and control skin colonization and staphylococcal infections. To assess the prevalence of bacterial colonization on various skin sites in patients undergoing hemodialysis. A cross-sectional study was conducted on adult patients at a tertiary care center of North India. Study was conducted from July 2016 to September 2016 on adult patients with newly diagnosed end stage renal disease (ESRD) on maintenance …

Modeling for Transmission Loss Prediction of Different Shapes of Acoustic Muffler with an Experimental Analysis
Abstract: Muffler’s noise reduction is generally calculated by transmission loss and insertion loss. Single expansion chamber is generally used as silencing elements in intake and exhaust systems. The main aim of this paper is to study use of FEA (Finite element analysis) as well as experimental methods for various shapes of Mufflers with constant volume for transmission loss measurement. Various shapes are available for muffler like cylindrical, elliptical cylindrical, box with …
