Structure–Property–Performance Characteristics of Chlorella Vulgaris Lipid-Based Bio-Composites Modified with n-Pentanol
Abstract: The depletion of fossil fuel resources and increasingly stringent emission regulations have intensified the need for sustainable alternatives for compression ignition (CI) engines. Biodiesel derived from Chlorella vulgaris microalgae is a renewable, non-edible fuel; however, its higher viscosity and lower volatility can adversely affect engine performance. To address these limitations, higher alcohols such as n-pentanol can be employed as effective modifiers to improve fuel physicochemical properties while maintaining compatibility with …

Modeling of the Mechanism of Generating Processes of Water Electrolysis and Photosynthesis with Solar Energy Used for Productions of Gas Oxygen and Hydrogen, of Concentrate of the High-calorie Microalgae Chlorella, and for Industrial Wastewater Treatment
Abstract: The use of solar energy for generation of the process of water electrolysis, permitting the oxygen and hydrogen gases production, concentration of the high-calorie fast productive Chlorella microalgae, and industrial wastewater treatment is the most promising direction today. This is explained by the complete absence of electrical energy consumption for the implementation of these industrial technological projects. No less interesting is the process of photosynthesis of phytoplankton cells, which also …

The Effect of Dried Green Alga Chlorella sorokiniana MH923013 on Corrosion Protection of Stainless Steel in Saline Media
Abstract: Metals interact with their surroundings to undergo corrosion, which is also defined as surface damage or metal decline in an aggressive setting. The objective of the current study was to assess the ability of the green alga Chlorella sorokiniana MH923013 to prevent corrosion of stainless steel in saline medium. Atomic force macroscopy (AFM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were used to analyse a dry mass of green algae. Electrochemical …

Performance, Emission, and Combustion Evaluation of Chlorella Vulgaris Biodiesel-Diesel Blends in a Compression Ignition Engine
Abstract: This study examines, without modifying the engine, the performance, emissions, and combustion properties of biodiesel blends made from Chlorella vulgaris microalgae in a four-stroke, single-cylinder, water-cooled CI engine. The blends of biodiesel and diesel, designated B10, B20, B30, and B40, were 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%, respectively. Of these, B20 showed the best efficiency-to-emissions ratio. Although it recorded the lowest brake specific fuel consumption of 0.232 kg/kWh, indicating superior fuel …

Benefits of Use of Microalgae in Spacecraft
Abstract: In this time of modern science and technology, we need sustainable development, so that we can meet the demand of future generations as well as the present generation. For this reason, scientists are trying to develop such products which have a considerable remark on every research. Consuming algae as a human food became popular over 70 years after it was discovered in 1942. This concept was first implemented in spacecraft …

Algae as Bio-Fertilizer
Abstract: Bio-fertilization represents a sustainable agricultural practice that leverages bio-fertilizers to enhance soil nutrient levels, thereby increasing agricultural productivity eco-friendly and feasible substitute for pollution-free agricultural applications, soil microflora has been used to increase biomass production and improve soil fertility. Numerous cyanobacteria, including species like Oscillatoria angustissima, Nostoc sp., and Anabaena sp., are known to be efficient nitrogen-fixing biofertilizers. Acuteodesmus dimorphus, Spirulina platensis, Chlorella vulgaris, Scenedesmus dimorphus, Anabaena azolla, and Nostoc …
