Comparative Study of Soft Soils Characteristics with Cement Waste Dust, Lime Powder and Boiled Rice Water
Abstract: Improvement of soft soil properties and effective pavement system performance of soft soils can be done only by stabilization process. It is an effective method. Jointly or individually, Chemical and/or Mechanical stabilization is done for various soils depending on the nature of that soil. As far as soft soils are concern, they are having reactive nature and so chemical stabilization is the best choice to improve such soil. Mainly, in …

Pulmonary Effects of Cement Exposure in Construction Workers Correlating Lung Function Parameters with Workplace Hygiene
Abstract: Construction workers are routinely exposed to cement dust, a recognized occupational hazard known to adversely affect respiratory health. This study investigates the pulmonary effects of cement exposure in construction workers by evaluating lung function parameters and examining the role of workplace hygiene practices. A cross-sectional analysis was conducted on a sample of construction workers with varying durations of exposure to cement dust. Spirometric assessments, including forced vital capacity (FVC), forced …

Experimental Study on Replacement of Cement and Fine Aggregate with Marble Dust and Copper Slag
Abstract: With the ever-growing challenge of managing escalating waste materials globally, this paper explores sustainable solutions in construction through the utilization of marble dust and copper slag. The rapid generation of waste poses severe environmental and health threats, necessitating innovative strategies for responsible waste management. Local availability and the potential to enhance concrete strength make marble dust and copper slag attractive candidates for the partial replacement of cement and fine aggregate. …

Flexural Analysis of Concrete Specimens with Substantial Substitution of Cement by Marble Dust and Scrap Rubber as Fibre
Abstract: Concrete is a crucial material in building and construction. Concrete is becoming more and more in demand every day. Concrete's essential ingredients are running out, therefore we need to find replacements. In addition to providing the necessary strength to the concrete, the replacement materials should also have the properties of the genuine components used in concrete. Typically, compression is where concrete shines, whereas tension and shear are where it falters. …

Impact of Composite Materials by Silica Fume and Fly Ash in Cement and Partial Substitution of Fine Aggregate Using Quarry Dust in Steel Fibre Concrete
Abstract: Mineral admixtures can be added to concrete to replace some of the cement, increasing its overall strength. Fly ash (FA) and silica fume (SF) are two often used mineral admixtures. A series of experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of adding varied amounts of fly ash and a consistent amount of silica fume on concrete strength by using the same amount of substitute for cement and the same water-binder …

High Strength Concrete Using Stone Waste
Abstract: Concrete is still the main material used in modern construction, and high strength concrete (HSC) is especially important for structures that need to be very strong. With more focus on being environmentally friendly, using waste materials from industries like stone in concrete has become a good way to make construction more eco-friendly. However, getting rid of stone waste, such as granite slurry, marble powder, and quarry dust, causes environmental problems …

Analysis of Fibre Reinforced Beams
Abstract: There has been research into the flexural behaviour of composite beams with a variety of fibre layer depths, all of which were designed using the balancing section and the limit state design idea. The fibre depth is estimated to be 112 mm (d = 112 mm), with the first three dimensions being 94.44 mm (d1 = 94.44 mm), 46.12 mm (d2 = 22.35 mm), and 22.35 mm (d3) respectively. The …

Stone Waste as a Soil Stabilizer
Abstract: The rapid expansion of construction, mining, and stone-processing industries has led to the large-scale generation of stone waste materials such as marble powder, granite slurry, quarry fines, and sandstone residues. The indiscriminate disposal of these wastes poses serious environmental concerns, including land degradation, dust pollution, and contamination of surface and groundwater resources. At the same time, weak and problematic soils continue to present major challenges in geotechnical engineering applications, particularly …
