Fluid and Ion Transport in Cement-Based Materials: A Systematic Review
Abstract: The development of fluid and ions in some concrete is occurred according to four basic mechanisms: capillary suction is due to capillary action inside of cement paste, permeation due to on pressure gradients, Diffusion is happened due to concentration gradients, and migration is due to electrical potential gradients. In this paper the transportation processes in concrete are described. Every process has a brief introduction to the physical mechanism by providing …

Techno-economic Assessment of a Domestic Refrigerator with Aluminium-based Suction Line and Capillary Tube
Abstract: The present work reports the experimental performance evaluation of aluminum suction line-based domestic refrigerators. Furthermore, it compared domestic refrigerators with conventional copper capillary tubes and suction lines using R600a as a refrigerant. Performance parameters: energy consumption, ice-making time, and pull-down time was reduced significantly compared to conventional copper suction and capillary tube. Refrigerants having Ambient temperature for ice making test and pull down were initially set at 43°C and that …

Effect of Improvement of Collapsible Soils with Bitumen Emulsions on Collapsibility Rate for Varying Degrees of Saturation
Abstract: Collapsible soils are one of many problematic soils in Iraq. Many foundation failure problems that occurred in Iraq are associated with percolation of water; the change in the degree of saturation can affect the stability of these soils and may encounter large volumetric change. A series of tests conducted on collapsible soil using oedometer apparatus and the settlement–time curves are determined accurately, then each test is determined to a different …
