Structure–Optical Property Correlation of Co-Doped TiO₂ and ZnO Nanofillers for Advanced Functional Composite Applications
Abstract: This study investigates the enhancement of the structural and optical properties of titanium dioxide (TiO₂) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles through cobalt (Co) doping. Pristine TiO₂ and ZnO are widely studied metal oxides; however, their large band gaps and limited visible-light absorption restrict their performance in optoelectronic, photocatalytic, and environmental applications. Co doping is employed as an effective strategy to overcome these limitations by inducing band-gap narrowing, creating defect-related electronic …

The Effect of Rare Earth (RE) Metal Doping of Zno, On Magnetic and Optical Properties of Zno Crystals Structure
Abstract: The magnetic and optical properties of magnetic semiconductors relays on the crystal structure, type and amount of dopant ions, and particle size. Then, the effect of rare earth metal (Dy, Eu, and La) doping on crystal structures, magnetic properties and optical properties are seen. It is revealed that the optical band gap of ZnO decrease down from 3.37eV up on doping with RE metals. Then, the Hamiltonian of the system …

Combustion Synthesis and Comprehensive Characterization of Pure and Ni-Doped CuFe₂O₄ Nanoparticles for Functional Composite Applications
Abstract: The CuFe2-xNixO4 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5) nanoparticles were synthesized using a combustion method and comprehensively characterized to understand their suitability for polymer-based composite applications. X-ray diffraction confirmed the formation of a single-phase spinel ferrite structure with crystallite sizes of 20–30 nm. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy verified the successful incorporation of Ni ions into the CuFe₂O₄ lattice, while FE-SEM analysis revealed uniformly dispersed nanoscale particles desirable for composite reinforcement. …

Au@Sio2@PVP-DCMD Membranes: A Breakthrough in Heavy Metal Removal and Antibacterial Defense
Abstract: This study investigates the development and characterization of multifunctional gold-doped silica (Au@SiO₂) membranes for water distillation and antibacterial applications. The manufacturing process integrated gold nanoparticles into silica matrices using sol-gel techniques. Structural analysis was conducted using SEM (showing uniform pore distribution with an average pore size of 40-50 nm), FTIR (confirming Si-O-Si and Si-Au-Si bonding peaks at 525 cm⁻¹ and 1310 cm⁻¹ respectively), EDX (revealing gold nanoparticle content of 1.5 …

In-Situ Polymerized GO/PANI Composites: Structural Evolution, Optical Modulation, and NH₃ Sensing at Room Temperature
Abstract: Graphene oxide (GO)/polyaniline (PANI) composites with varying PANI contents (20, 40, and 60 wt%) were synthesized via in-situ oxidative polymerization and systematically investigated for their structural, morphological, optical, and gas-sensing properties. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed a progressive increase in interlayer spacing and partial exfoliation of GO layers with increasing PANI content, indicating intercalation-assisted hybridization. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy revealed the characteristic vibrational bands of both constituents and confirmed strong …

Structural, Electrical and Optical Properties of RGO-Incorporated PVA Nanocomposites for UV Shielding Applications
Abstract: Polymer matrix-based nanocomposites reinforced with appropriate nanoparticles have the potential to exhibit improved electrical, optical and mechanical properties, as well as improved UV-shielding capabilities. These materials are currently being utilised for various commercial applications, such as window shields and automotive components. We prepared reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-incorporated polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polymer nanocomposites employing a solution casting method. XRD and SEM results confirmed that the rGO nanosheets were dispersed well in …

Comparative Study of Structural and Optical Properties of Bismuth Ferrite Nanoparticles for Photovoltaic Applications Synthesized via Different Sol-Gel Methods
Abstract: Pure multiferroic bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using an energy-efficient, low-temperature sol-gel method, comparing two distinct approaches: auto-combustion and non-auto-combustion. To ensure phase stability, the precursor solution's pH was strictly maintained between 1 and 2 using ammonia solution (NH4OH), while ethylene glycol (C2H6O2) was employed as a chelating agent for the Fe3+ and Bi3+ cations. All samples underwent a final annealing process at 500 °C to promote crystallization. …
