A Comprehensive Investigation of Bagging-Based Ensemble Methods for Improving Machine Learning Model Robustness
Abstract: Machine learning models such as Decision Trees, Logistic Regression, and K-Nearest Neighbors are widely used for classification tasks due to their simplicity and interpretability. However, these models often suffer from high variance, overfitting, and poor generalization when applied to real-world datasets, particularly those that are small, noisy, or imbalanced, as commonly encountered in healthcare, finance, and cybersecurity applications. To address these limitations, this research proposes a Bagging (Bootstrap Aggregating)-based ensemble …

A Study to Find the Relation Between School Bag Weight and Musculoskeletal Discomfort in School Going Children
Abstract: Background: School bags are one of the several forms of manual load carriage used by school children. Carrying school bags that exceed 10% of body weight can lead to heightened energy expenditure, causing increased forward lean of the neck and trunk, reduced lung capacity, and elevated cardio-respiratory measures. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are characterized by injuries or disorders affecting muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, or spinal discs, as diagnosed by healthcare providers, …

Structural Modification of Sugarcane Bagasse using Alkaline, Acid, and Bleaching Pretreatments for Enhanced Yield of Poly (1→4)-β-D-glucopyranose (Cellulose) and Hemicellulose for Utilization as Biocomposites
Abstract: Sugarcane bagasse, a lignocellulosic byproduct generated in substantial quantities by the sugar industry, represents a promising feedstock for the sustainable production of enzymes and bio-based chemicals. Its high (1→4)-β-D-glucopyranose (cellulose) content, abundant availability, and low cost make it an ideal candidate for bioconversion processes. However, the inherent recalcitrance of bagasse, primarily due to its lignin-rich matrix, necessitates effective pretreatment strategies to enhance enzymatic digestibility. This study presents a comparative investigation …

Composite Behavior of Bagasse Ash Stabilized Expansive Soil with Sodium Benzophenone Under Curing Conditions
Abstract: The present investigation examines the development of a hybrid composite using Black Cotton (BC) soil, Bagasse Ash (BA), and Sodium Benzophenone (SBP) as performance-enhancing elements. Different ratios of BA, a silica-rich agro-industrial by-product, were added to improve pozzolanic reactivity and particle size distribution (0%, 6%, and 12%). SBP was added in the range of 0–0.6% as a compatibilizer in order to enhance interfacial adhesion, particle cohesivity and moisture-assisted deterioration resistance. …

Red Earth Development of a Soil-Based Composite Using Bagasse Ash and Lime: Effects on Plasticity and Compaction Characteristics of Red Earth
Abstract: The concept of sustainable soil composites (SSC) emerges through blending red earth with bagasse ash (BA) and hydrated lime to enhance geotechnical properties and enable productive reuse of agro-industrial waste. Red earth functions as the matrix, BA acts as a fine pozzolanic microfiller, and lime serves as the chemical binder. BA content ranges from 0% to 60%, with 10% identified as optimal; subsequent lime additions from 1% to 5% evaluate …
