Investigation of Electronic Transport Characteristics of Co-Doped B40 Molecular Junction for Detection of Isoprene: A DFT Study
Abstract: The early identification of lung cancer is crucial and it can be diagnosed non-invasively by assessing the exhalation. Analysing a patient's breath profile can reveal malignant growths in their lungs. In this work, B40 co-doped with indium and iron is used as a molecular junction to sense isoprene, a well-known lung cancer biomarker present in the exhalation. The electronic transport characteristics of the molecular junction designed for isoprene detection are …

Effects of Nano Additives on Performance and Emission Characteristics of CI Engine with Mahua Biodiesel and Diesel Blends as Fuel
Abstract: Due to growing environmental concerns and the imminent depletion of fossil fuels, the development of eco-friendly alternative fuels, such as biodiesel, is imperative. To improve the performance and emission properties of diesel engines utilizing biodiesel blends, the effective introduction of metallic and non-metallic nano-additives has been established. This research aimed to investigate the blending ratios of biodiesel (B0, B10, B20, and B40) in a compression ignition engine. Furthermore, the impact …

Evaluation of the Emission and Engine Operability of Biodiesel and Biodiesel Blends Produced from Alkali-Catalyzed Esterification and Transesterification of Jatropha Oil Feedstock
Abstract: This study reports on the engine performance analysis of biodiesel and blends produced from jatropha-based bio-oil feedstock via combined esterification and transesterification process, the physiochemical of the bio-oil, and subsequent biodiesel produced. Jatropha bio-oil was characterized to determine its fuel properties. A liquid phase transesterification reaction at 60 min reaction time, 50°C temperature, using a methanol-oil molar ratio of 40:1 and 0.35 g of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) catalyst was carried …

Performance, Emission, and Combustion Evaluation of Chlorella Vulgaris Biodiesel-Diesel Blends in a Compression Ignition Engine
Abstract: This study examines, without modifying the engine, the performance, emissions, and combustion properties of biodiesel blends made from Chlorella vulgaris microalgae in a four-stroke, single-cylinder, water-cooled CI engine. The blends of biodiesel and diesel, designated B10, B20, B30, and B40, were 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%, respectively. Of these, B20 showed the best efficiency-to-emissions ratio. Although it recorded the lowest brake specific fuel consumption of 0.232 kg/kWh, indicating superior fuel …
