Betel Quid without Tobacco: A Threat to Oral Health and Well-being in India
Abstract: Betel quid without tobacco, a popular cultural product across India and other South and Southeast Asian nations, is often consumed for its refreshing stimulant effects during social and religious gatherings. Despite its deep cultural significance, the health hazards of betel quid – especially its strong association with oral cancers – are often overlooked. Experimental Study on Mechanical and Tribological Characterization of Arecanut Shell Fibre Reinforced Composites with MWCNT Nanofillers
Abstract: Natural fiber-reinforced composites (NFRCs) are emerging as sustainable alternatives to conventional synthetic composites due to their eco-friendliness, cost-effectiveness, and favorable mechanical properties. This study evaluates the mechanical and tribological performance of Areca Nutshell Fiber (ANSF)-reinforced epoxy composites with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as nanofillers. The composites were fabricated using the vacuum bag molding technique. Tensile tests assessed strength, modulus, and elongation, while flexural tests evaluated bending resistance. Pin-on-disc tests examined …

Comparative Study of Mechanical Properties of Sisal/Epoxy, Fiber/Glass Epoxy, Sisal/Fiber Glass/Epoxy Composites
Abstract: The rate at which non-renewable resources are consumed increases, the research of using eco-friendly and sustainable materials has been in the spotlight lately. The companies from different industries are trying to find replacements for traditional synthetic materials to limit their environmental impact and promote sustainable eco-friendly initiatives. One such approach is the usage of natural fiber polymer composites as it provides a biodegradable and renewable structural alternative over traditional synthetic …
