Analysis and Strength Assessment of Solid and Honey Comb Structure of Turbofans in Aeroengines
Abstract: Weight reduction of turbofan engines is one of the main concerns of aero engine manufacturers inorder to reduce fuel burn. To achieve higher fuel efficiency, aero engine manufacturers developturbofans with higher bypass ratio, which can only be achieved with larger (and heavier) fan sections. This makes weight reduction in fan components a major consideration and becomes a key driver forthe use of composite materials in future engines. The objective of this …

Perspectives of 3D-Printed Polylactic Acid-Based Composites Reinforced with Natural Fibers
Abstract: The growing demand for sustainable and biodegradable materials has led to the development of polylactic acid (PLA)-based composites reinforced with natural fibers. This study investigates the mechanical, thermal, printability, and environmental performance of 3D-printed PLA/Natural Fiber composites, addressing key challenges in fiber-matrix compatibility, structural integrity, and biodegradability. Natural fiber reinforcement enhanced Young’s modulus and flexural strength, but excessive fiber content led to agglomeration, reduced tensile strength, and increased brittleness. Thermal …
