Phytochemical Screening, Proximate Analysis and Acute Toxicity Study of Ethanolic Extract of Launaea taraxacifolia on Visceral Organs of Albino Rats
Abstract: Despite increase in the acceptance of herbs for the treatment of certain diseases, there are limited information on the effectiveness, safety and toxicity of herbs. In this study, proximate analysis, phytochemical screening and acute toxicity studies on the herbal recipe, Launaea taraxacifolia were carried out. Constituents of Launaea taraxacifolia were extracted using ethanol. Phytochemical screening and proximate analysis were carried out on the extract. Fifteen (15) albino rats, divided into …

Impact of Hexavalent Chromium on Histopathology in Freshwater Stinging Catfish Heteropneustes Fossilis
Abstract: Acute toxicity of Cr (VI) (as K2Cr2O7) to freshwater stinging catfish, Heteropneustes fossilis and its histopathological impacts on gill and liver tissue were evaluated. Fish showed behavioral alterations after K2Cr2O7 exposure and 96 h-LC50 was 35.724 mg/L in static bioassay. Fish were exposed to three sub-lethal concentrations (concentration I=1/4th of 96 h-LC50, concentration II=1/10th of 96 h-LC50 and concentration III=environmental concentration of Cr reported in the river Buriganga). Blood, liver …

Attenuation of Doxorubicin-induced Hepato- and Nephrotoxicity by Proanthocyanidins from Myrica nagi Bark in Wistar Rats
Abstract: Due to dose-related toxic effects, doxorubicin, a very potent and often used anti-cancer medication, is largely limited. The current research investigated the protective impact of Myrica nagi bark (PMN)-isolated proanthocyanidins on hepato-induced doxorubicin and nephrotoxicity in Wistar rats. The animals were subdivided into six classes of five rats each. Group I got PMN (200 mg/kg, p.o.) for 21 days, Group II received Doxorubicin (DXR) (60 mg/kg, i.p.) once, 48 h …

Multifarious Magnitude of Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticles Integrated Feed on Growth and Hematological Characteristics of Mrigal Cirrhinus mrigala
Abstract: The present study deals with the multifarious magnitude of magnesium oxide nanoparticles integrated feed on growth and hematological characteristics of Mrigal Cirrhinus mrigala. Magnesium oxide nanoparticles were made using the co-precipitation process and analyzed, identified, and characterized utilizing scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Four feeds such as Feed I (Control), II, III, and IV were prepared by using multifarious magnitude (25, …

Thermo-Mechanical Behavior and Intelligent Optimization of Contact Temperature During Ultrasonic Vibration-Assisted Single-Pole Magnetic Abrasive Finishing of Zinc Alloy
Abstract: This study proposes a new integration of the experimental analysis, multi-physics finite element modelling (FEM) and machine learning (ML) optimisation of contact temperature (CT) in ultrasonic vibration-assisted single pole magnetic abrasive finishing (UV-SPMAF) of zinc alloy. The three gaps of the research are addressed: (i) The absence of a multi-physics FEM model that can couple electromagnetic, thermal and structural fields for UV-SPMAF of zinc; (ii) No quantified contribution of the …

Impact of Social Media and Online Influencers on Parents’ Pediatric Dental Decisions: A Cross-Sectional Study
Abstract: Background: Social media has become a key source of health information for parents, but its role in shaping pediatric dental treatment decisions is poorly understood. Aim: To evaluate the influence of social media and online influencers on parents’ decisions regarding pediatric dental treatments. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 240 parents of children aged 3–14 years in Kanpur, India. A total of 228 complete questionnaires were included for final …

Clinical Outcomes of Diode Laser Hemorrhoidoplasty and Excisional Hemorrhoidoplasty in Grade II–III Internal Hemorrhoids: A Randomized Clinical Study
Abstract: Hemorrhoidal disease is a common condition that affects the area around the anus and is found in many adults. Surgery is needed when there is repeated bleeding, when the hemorrhoids slip out of place, or when a blood clot forms. Although traditional surgery for hemorrhoids works, it often causes a lot of pain after the operation and takes longer to recover from. Laser hemorrhoidoplasty (LHP) is a newer, less invasive …

Fabrication, Interfacial Characterization, and Superparamagnetic Properties of Fe₃O₄@γ-Fe₂O₃ Core/Shell Nanoparticle-Reinforced Chitosan Biopolymer Composites
Abstract: Magnetite/maghemite core/shell nanoparticles were prepared by alkaline co-precipitation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) precursors followed by controlled thermal oxidation at 350 °C and subsequently incorporated into chitosan at 1, 3, and 5 wt% loadings by solution casting. The resulting films were evaluated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and tensile testing. XRD showed the characteristic cubic spinel reflections …

Development of Multilayer Metallic Coatings with Graded Interfaces for Enhanced Wear and Fatigue Resistance in Aerospace Components
Abstract: This study presents a comprehensive investigation into the development and characterization of multilayer metallic coating systems with compositionally graded interfaces, specifically engineered to enhance wear and fatigue resistance in aerospace structural and rotating components. Four coating architectures were systematically designed: (i) CrN/TiAlN bilayer, (ii) TiN/TiAlN/TiAlSiN gradient trilayer, (iii) CrAlN/AlCrN nanolaminate, and (iv) a novel five-layer CrN–TiN–TiAlN–AlCrN–TiAlSiN functionally graded system (FGS). Coatings were deposited via high-power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) and …
