Managing Pavement Settlement Risk: Impact of Waterlogging and Soil Conditions
Abstract: In the context of road infrastructure, the occurrence of waterlogging due to rainfall can have significant repercussions. Rainwater often infiltrates the road surface and, depending on factors such as the depth of the foundation and the extent of penetration into the ground, can lead to the soil beneath the road becoming either moist or saturated. This, in turn, can result in a reduction of the soil's bearing capacity. When vehicles …

Determination of Quick Switching Double Sampling System by Attributes under Fuzzy Poisson Distribution: Acceptance Number Tightening
Abstract: AbstractAcceptance sampling plans are used to accept or reject the lots based on the inspection of samples. A mixture of acceptance sampling plans with switching rules for changing from one plan to another are called acceptance sampling schemes. The simple and most generally used sampling scheme is quick switching system (QSS-1). Quick switching system with reference to single sampling plan is a system which requires fewer samples for processes running …

Block SLM Scheme for Efficient PAPR Reduction in OFDM Systems
Abstract: AbstractOrthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is an attractive technique due to its high-speed data transmission and robustness for time-selective channels. However, the major drawback of OFDM system is high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper, two PAPR reduction schemes have been introduced; one is conventional selected mapping (SLM) scheme and a new proposed block selected mapping (BSLM) scheme to obtain PAPR reduction performance in OFDM system. In the proposed …
