Tailoring Toughness of Pineapple Leaf Fiber-Reinforced Epoxy Composites Using Halloysite Nanotubes
Abstract: This comprehensive study investigates the effects of halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) on the impact strength and fracture toughness of pineapple leaf fabric-reinforced epoxy (PALF/Ep) composites with an emphasis on sustainable material development. ASTM D256 and ASTM D5045 standards were followed in the fabrication of the composites. HNT weight percentages were systematically changed from 0 to 3wt% through using solution mixing and manual lay-up techniques, and vacuum bagging was used to obtain …

Self-Healing Polymeric Composites Reinforced with Green Synthesized Nanoparticles
Abstract: The development of sustainable self-healing polymeric materials is critical for enhancing durability and service life in advanced engineering applications. In this study, zinc oxide (ZnO), magnesium oxide (MgO), and ferric oxide (Fe₂O₃) nanoparticles were green-synthesized using Allium cepa extract and incorporated into epoxy-based polymeric composites to improve mechanical, thermal, and self-healing properties. This bio-based synthesis is eco-friendly and safe alternative to harsh chemical techniques, utilizing natural antioxidants to stabilize the …

Synthesis of Magnetically Recoverable Nickel (II) Complex-Functionalized Fe3O4@ISNA (ISNA= Isonicotinic acid) Nanomaterials: Catalytic Studies on Nitrophenol Reduction and TD- DFT Studies
Abstract: In this study, we aimed to develop a novel, environmentally sustainable, and magnetically separable heterogeneous nanocatalyst, denoted as Fe3O4@ISNA@NiL (where L represents the ligand). The synthesis involved a two-step process, first, isonicotinic acid was chemically grafted onto the surface of iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4) to introduce functional groups capable of further chemical modification. Subsequently, a nickel(II) Schiff base monomeric complex was anchored onto the modified surface, resulting in a nanocatalyst …
