Starter Culture Development for Spontaneously Fermented Buttermilk
Abstract: Fourteen fermented milks were made from ultra-high temperature (UHT) treated milk using mixtures of three strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and two yeast strains isolated from spontaneously fermented buttermilk (SFB). The isolates used for this experiment were Lactococcus (Lc.) lactis ssp lactis strain NGLC1, Lc. lactis ssp lactis strain NGLC2, Lactobacillus plantarum strain NGLB1, Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain NGY1 and Kluyveromyces marxianus strain NGY2. Inoculated milk was fermented for 48 …

Ethnomedicinal, Pharmacological and Phytochemical Screening of Supari (Areca catechu Linn.): A Review
Abstract: Supari (Areca catechu Linn.) is a tall tree about 10–20 m long. It is used both locally and internally. Local application is beneficial in various acute inflammatory conditions in the form of gargle, vaginal douche or abzan, decoction, juice and oil. Internally it act as muqavvie-qalb (cardiotonic) and muqavvi-e-ama (intestinal tonic), sozish meda (gastric irritation), dries the excessive secretions of mouth, used in vomiting and nausea, strengthen the teeth and …

Saccharomyces Cerevisiae and Pichia Pastoris Optimize NH4NO3 by 50 % in Solanum Lycopersicum Preventing N2O Release.
Abstract: In agriculture, the unregulated application of NH4NO3 for healthy growth of Solanum lycopersicum is associated in the soil with the denitrification of free NO3- (nitrate), with an increase in N2O, a greenhouse gas, that contributes to global warming, loss of soil fertility. An ecological option to avoid denitrification that releases N2O as other environmental problems is to inoculate S. lycopersicum seeds with endophytic yeasts that promote plant growth, such as …

Modulation of Receptor Proteins: A Recent Paradigm in Drug Discovery and Target
Abstract: The main aim in drug discovery is to design different ligands those work on specific drug targets. However, various effective drugs work through the modulation of many proteins than single target. Advancement in system biology are establishing a phenotypic strength and a network structure, which suggests that, the excellent selective compounds may be performed less than desired clinical efficacy in comparison to multi-target drugs. In this new appreciation of the …
