Covid-19 Associated Mucormycosis: Urgency To Reconsider The Uncontrolled Use Of Prophylactic Drugs
Abstract: Mucormycosis, a lethal mycosis, has affected hundreds of COVID-19 sufferers in India. Mucormycosis, previously known as zygomycosis, is due to the diverse fungi that belong to the family "Mucorales." These molds are normally determined in soil, air, and damp partitions and often colonize oral mucosa, nose, paranasal sinuses, and throat. The pathophysiological results of diabetes mixed with the intense inflammatory surge in COVID-19 and steroid remedy weaken a person's immunity …

Mineralization of Phenanthrene by Paenibacillus sp. PRNK-6: Effect of Synthetic Surfactants on its Mineralization
Abstract: Paenibacillus sp. PRNK-6 isolated from a soil contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) was able to utilize 69.48% of phenanthrene (320 mg l-1) in 48 h. The effect of three synthetic surfactants namely, the nonionic surfactant Tween-80, the anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) and the cationic surfactant cetyltrymethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) on the phenanthrene mineralization by Paenibacillus sp. PRNK-6 was studied. Results showed that the effect of each surfactant …

The Predatory Bacteria, Bdellovibrio and Like Organisms (BALOs): An Emerging Savior for Human Welfare
Abstract: Bdellovibrio and like organisms (BALOs) are capable of killing other Gram negative pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria dwelling in a diverse environmental niches such as soil, freshwater and ocean. The predatory nature of BALOs can be a viable alternative to conventional use of antibiotics to treat ocular, periodontal, respiratory and fish pathogen infections since the incessant use develops resistance against them. Unique property such as potential to survive in ecologically hazardous …
