Community-based Study, Demographic and Socio-Economic Factors Associated with TB in Rural Jaipur NIMS Hospital
Abstract: This study showed that fewer women sought care in out-patient clinics for respiratory symptoms, fewer submitted sputum for testing, and if tested, fewer were smear-positive. This implies persistent lower representation of females at the different clinical steps for TB management using DOTS at community level. These findings raise grave concerns about the gender sensitive DOTS strategy for TB control. The findings indicate that an epidemiology of TB complicated by gender …

A Study and Report on Assessment of Antibiotic Prescribing Patterns and Drug Resistance Among Various Infectious Diseases in Hospital
Abstract: Antimicrobial resistance remains the biggest cause of death worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, the age standardized mortality due to infectious diseases in India in 2008 was 377 per 100,000 persons, which is considered as highest in South Asia. This has led to the increased prescribing of antibiotics even at unnecessary conditions, which increased the rate of inappropriate prescribing of antibiotics, which in turn resulted in the emergence of …

Uses of Nanotechnology in Medical Diagnostic Applications
Abstract: Nanoparticle and nanodevice is a boon for mankind to treat and deal with disease and medical diagnosis respectively. Nanotechnology is formed by the unity of chemistry, engineering, biology and medicine restricted to the nanoscale (about 1–100 nanometer (nm)). For example, early detection of malignant tumors and cancer biomarkers, which is impossible using conventional technologies. In here we will discuss nanosized sensors to identify different pathological parameters, foreign antigen and toxic …

GLAUCOMA DETECTION TECHNIQUES: A REVIEW
Abstract: The eye is the second most complex and valuable organ after the brain. The second most common among eye conditions is glaucoma, an eye disease that is widespread and has the potential to cause neurodegeneration. The main cause of Glaucoma is abnormal pressure within the eye, which can be challenging to detect in the early stages since there are no clear symptoms. A timely diagnosis plays a critical role in …
