Abstract

A detailed descriptive study of anatomy and physiology of the body as a whole and individual parts or organs is the chief tool to reach a proper diagnosis. The anorectal area besides being complex structurally and functionally is the commonest site for diseases of lower Gastrointestinal tract. Thus, great stalwarts of anorectal surgery Milligan and Morgan and McGregor have provided detail description of the part, the aspects of general as well as applied anatomy.
