Polymer Chemistry in Sustained-Release Herbal Composites: Designing a Stable Euphorbia tithymaloides Topical System with Phospholipid and Polymer Matrices
Abstract: Polymer chemistry enables the stabilization and sustained release of herbal actives, critical for topical therapeutic applications. This study explores a novel process for preparing a stable, sustained-release topical composition of Euphorbia tithymaloides, leveraging polymer-based systems. Ethanolic extract (50 mg) of the plant, rich in unstable sugar moieties (e.g., D-ribose) and sterols (e.g., stigmasterol), is encapsulated within a phospholipid matrix of phosphatidylcholine (50–100 mg) and cholesterol (50–100 mg). This lipid-polymer complex, …

Histological Effects of the Antibiotic Gentamicin on the Ovarian Tissue of Female White Laboratory Rats
Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the histological alterations induced by Gentamicin in the ovarian tissue of white laboratory rats. A total of 12 adult female rats were used and randomly divided into two groups, with each group consisting of six animals. The experimental group received Gentamicin at a dose of 120 mg/kg body weight administered as an injection once daily, while the control group received an equivalent volume of normal …

Marine Fungi – An Expandable Source for Production of Novel Bioactive Metabolites: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract: The marine environment, representing the largest and most extreme biome on Earth, serves as an unparalleled reservoir of biodiversity. Within this vast ecosystem, marine fungi have emerged as a prolific source of structurally diverse and pharmacologically active secondary metabolites. Dwelling in habitats characterized by extreme high salinity, high hydrostatic pressure, and low temperatures, these microorganisms have evolved unique biochemical and metabolic pathways to synthesize novel compounds, including pyrrole-imidazole alkaloids, cyclic …

Environmental Impact Assessment of Ocean Energy Converters Using Quantum Machine Learning
Abstract: The accelerating deployment of ocean energy converters (OECs) across tidal, wave, osmotic, and thermal domains necessitates rigorous, data-intensive environmental impact assessment (EIA) frameworks capable of modelling multi-stressor marine ecosystems in real time. Classical machine learning approaches, while operationally mature, encounter scalability bottlenecks and feature correlation limitations when applied to the high-dimensional, non-linear datasets characteristic of offshore monitoring networks. This paper presents a comprehensive quantum machine learning (QML) framework for the …

Anticancer, Nutritional & Other Therapeutic Potentials of Microgreens
Abstract: Microgreens are young, tender greens, immature greens (require light for photosynthesis and growing medium) that are developed from the seeds of cereals, herbs, legumes, and vegetables. These are used to enhance the color, texture, or flavor of salads and main dishes. The immature plants are harvested between 7 and 21 days, depending on the variety. They are referred to as "living superfoods," "functional foods," or "nutraceuticals," because they are rich …

Development of an Arduino-Based Water Quality Monitoring System Using Turbidity Sensor
Abstract: Clean drinking water is essential for human health since dirty water can lead to serious diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid and long-term diseases such as kidney damage, cancer and child development problems. Though hard water is less dangerous, it causes dry skin and kidney stones and saline water causes high blood pressure. The Water Quality Monitoring System exists as a solution against existing water safety issues. The system …
