Breathing prediction of fracture deviated wellbore through flooding mechanism
Abstract: Wellbore breathing is a common occurrence during drilling operations, but the down hole mechanism and how it manifests itself in surface and subsurface processes, is not well understood. It often result in a drilling fluid gain at surface and are misidentified as a kick, resulting in unneeded shut in periods and associated non-productive time (NPT). Further, misidentification of wellbore breathing as underbalance often results in increases in mud weight, which …

Experimental Study on the Impact of Polymer (PAM) in Enhancing Oil Recovery in Upper Assam Basin Oil fields
Abstract: The Upper Assam Basin, one of India’s most mature and extensively exploited hydrocarbon provinces, is experiencing declining oil production due to reservoir depletion and unfavorable crude oil–brine–rock (COBR) interactions. In this context, alkali–polymer (AP) flooding has emerged as a promising chemical enhanced oil recovery (EOR) strategy. AP flooding reduces interfacial tension (IFT) through in-situ surfactant generation by alkali and improves sweep efficiency via polymer-based mobility control, typically using polyacrylamide (PAM). …

Analysis of the Impact of Seabed Earthquakes on Coastal Structures and Foundation Design
Abstract: Earthquakes in the seabed occur with varying magnitudes. Seabed earthquakes cause a rapid rise in water levels, which can lead to flooding and structural damage. Therefore, when designing buildings near the seashore, it is essential to account for the additional load on columns due to water thrust. Earthquakes occurring at the seabed generate intense ground acceleration of varying magnitudes, significantly affecting water levels and inducing destructive flooding along coastal regions. …
