Thymoquinone Induces Epigenetic Modulation in ROS Dependent Manner
Abstract: Traditional drugs have the ability to treat broad range of diseases by modulating the signaling pathwaysof inflammatory diseases and cancer. Epigenetic modulation is also one of the mechanisms already established as a process of action. Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibition leads to changes in gene expression promoting cell death. Thymoquinone (TQ), a bioactive compound from Nigella sativa seeds has shown to have an antineoplastic effect in many cancers. Here we have …

Tobacco Consequences Oral Health: A Review Article
Abstract: Use of tobacco is one of the most important risk factor for oral cancer, periodontal disease, mucosal lesions and dental implant failure. Tobacco smoking frequently increases the risk of oral cancer and quitting smoking results in reduced risk. In various forms of periodontal disease, the severity and prevalence is higher among smokers as compared to non-smokers. Risks of peri-implantitis and maintenance of oral hygiene are adversely affected by smoking. The …

Synthesis and Evaluation of Novel Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor-γ (PPAR-γ) Agonists for the Treatment of Diabetes
Abstract: A series of novel thiazolidinedione derivatives as peroxisome proliferator activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-gamma) agonists bearing different fatty acid esters and amides as substituents in the positions 3 and 4 of the benzylidene moiety have been designed, synthesized and tested as potential antihyperglycemic agents. The compounds containing stearic acid (A1TU, A2TU, A3TU, A2TS and A3TS) exhibited the maximum activity (64.7-70.3 % BG reduction) among all the synthesized compounds. The capric acid containing …

Effects of Intraperitoneal Administration of ATRA on the Testis of Elastase Induced Emphysematous Rats
Abstract: Emphysema is the pathological manifestation primarily associated with lungs. However, there are evidences of extra-pulmonary manifestations related to emphysema. The inflammation developed during emphysema triggers the release of several inflammatory mediators, which affects the proximal as well as distal organs. The present study was designed to determine the effect of inflammatory spillage on testicular tissue of male Sprague dawley rats; moreover, the main focus was to assess the potential role …

Biochemical Analysis of Cadaveric Synovial Fluid for Determination of Death Interval
Abstract: Estimation of post-mortem interval or time since a death has always remained an important requirement in medico-legal autopsies. Since the 1850s, scientists have been working on different methods to determine post-mortem interval but none of the methods is either or collectively reliable in measuring exact death interval because of environmental factors. Hence in this study, synovial fluid sodium concentration was investigated to predict post-mortem interval. Total 100 samples of the …

Synthesis and Characterization of TiO2 1% SiO2 of Crystal and its Bacterial Applications
Abstract: Three-dimensional (3D) TiO2 Anatase and Rutile structures have attracted much attention due to their optical properties. However, the large band gap of (3.2 eV) results in the fact that anatase TiO2 can act as photo catalyst and be excited by UV light, which only accounts for 3–5% of the solar energy. On considering that nobel metallatic nanomaterials can harvest visible light, in this paper, TiO2 and SiO2 nanocrystals with rod …
