Artificial Intelligence and Constitutive Modeling Equations for Predictive Design of High-Performance Polymer Composites
Abstract: Growing polymer composite applications demand accurate mechanical prediction, yet complex interactions and conventional constitutive models limit predictive capability and require extensive calibration. To report these challenges, this research recommends a combined Artificial Intelligence (AI) and constitutive modeling approach based on an Enhanced Tasmanian Devil Optimizer-tuned Residual Neural Network with Multilayer Perceptron (ETDO-ResNet-MLP) for the predictive design of high-performance polymer composites. The study uses a publicly available Polymer Composite Property Dataset …

Conductive Polymer Nanocomposites for Wearable Cardiac Monitoring Devices
Abstract: Wearable cardiac monitoring devices are increasingly important tools for non-invasive, continuous assessment of cardiac health. Their growth is driven by increases in the incidence of arrhythmias and by a great demand for remote monitoring. This is changing with the use of conductive polymer nanocomposites (CPNCs). They combine physical properties of mechanical flexibility, high electrical conductivity, and good biocompatibility resulting in high precision, and comfortable sensing. CPNCs combine conductive polymers with …

Gamma- and Electron Beam-Induced Crystalline modification in Poly (Lactic Acid): Effects of Radiation Dose and Dose Rate
Abstract: Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is an important commercial biodegradable polyester whose properties are dictated by its molecular architecture and semicrystalline nature. The application of ionizing radiation particularly gamma rays and electron beams is extensive for sterilization and materials processing. The effect of ionizing radiation on the crystallinity of PLA is complex however, since irradiation causes concurrently chain scission, radical formation, oxidation, recombination and mobility driven structural reorganization. This work studies the …

A Descriptive Study on Cervical Cancer Screening Methods
Abstract: Cervical cancer continues to pose a major public health challenge, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where access to preventive services is often limited. This review presents an overview of the disease, covering its global burden, underlying causes, available screening approaches, treatment options, and preventive measures. Persistent infection with high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV) is widely recognized as the main cause of cervical cancer, with certain strains contributing more …

Influence of Aeration on Biomass and Polyhydroxyalkanoate Accumulation in Priestia flexa JP1: A Foundation for Nano-Biomaterial Development
Abstract: Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are microbial polymers that have attracted substantial interest in recent times due to their use as biodegradable substitutes for petroleum-derived plastics and also as precursors for nano-enabled biomaterials. The aim of the present work was to evaluate the effect of static and shaking culture conditions on growth kinetics, biomass formation, and PHA synthesis by Priestia flexa JP1. The bacterial strain was cultured in mineral salt media (MSM) at …

Multifunctional Lignin-Modified Jute/Bio-Epoxy Composites with MWCNT-Based Piezoresistive Self-Sensing for Sustainable Housing Applications
Abstract: This study develops a multifunctional natural-fibre-reinforced polymer composite based on alkali-treated jute fabric, bio-based epoxy, kraft lignin and a small amount of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), with particular emphasis on polymer-matrix modification, fibre–matrix interfacial behaviour and intrinsic damage sensing. Kraft lignin was incorporated at 0, 2, 4 and 6 wt.% to examine its influence on polymer-chain mobility, interfacial morphology, thermal stability and mechanical response, while 0.5 wt.% MWCNTs was introduced …
