Q Anisotropy in the Region of Garhwal Himalaya
Abstract: Abstract Empirical relations have been found out to describe the decay in amplitude with distance of s-waves in the region of Garhwal Himalaya. These functions results from the analysis of spectral amplitudes of three component digital records from 19 local earthquakes obtained from 12-station seismological network deployed in the Garhwal lesser Himalaya. The events lie in a magnitude range from ML 2 to ML 4.5, epicentral distance 5 to 120 …

Design and Simulation of Piezoelectric Energy Harvester
Abstract: SU-8 has the high aspect ratio, good pattern ability property, mechanical and chemical stability. The energy harvester structure is made of SU-8 as substrate and zinc oxide as the piezoelectric layer. The optimal dimension is found out to be 500 µm×20 µm×3 µm. The simulation shows that for input 10 N/m2 at the frequency of resonance of the structure, the energy harvester generates 13.1 mV. Keywords: Zinc Oxide (ZnO), cantilever …

Thermo-Mechanical Analysis of Aluminium and Mild Steel during Friction Drilling
Abstract: Friction drilling is a non-machining method of making holes in metal, in which the material is melted by adding high pressure and friction energy. Friction drilling uses very heat resistant cemented carbide, pointed but not sharp object. This device is pressed against a target material with both high rotational speed and high pressure. The process reshapes all thematerial so that no material is lost. The sleeve that is about three …

Thermophilic Adaptation of Anaerobic Sludge for Electricity Production
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Anaerobic digestion of biogas inside the digester occurs in a particular temperature range. Research shows that the production can be increased by 33% by switching over from mesophilic temperature range (3040 ° C) to thermophilic temperature range (5060 ° C). Even then, biogas plants generally work in mesophilic range because a large amount of energy is required to maintain the high digester …
