Neuroinflammation Is Aggravated by the Aqueous Extract of Myrmecodia Platytyrea Tuber
Abstract: Myrmecodia platytyrea, commonly known as the ant plant, is a medicinal epiphyte traditionally used in Southeast Asia for its purported health benefits, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancer activities. Its tuber contains abundant secondary metabolites, including flavonoids, tannins, phenolic compounds, and saponins. While these phytochemicals are generally associated with therapeutic effects, the biological activity of Myrmecodia extracts varies depending on the type of extract, dosage, and route of administration. In …

Investigating mosquito innate immune defence mechanism towards malaria vaccine development
Abstract: Mosquito-borne diseases weigh heavily on public health across the globe. The mosquito’s innate immune system certainly decides whether malaria parasites survive inside the vector, and that sighted it as a logical place to discover new vaccine ideas. In this review, we examine how Anopheles mosquitoes defend themselves against Plasmodium parasites and how those defenses could be turned into tools for malaria control. We focus on three layers of immunity: antimicrobial …

Phosphorescence of Carbon Nanodots – The Phenomena and the Applications
Abstract: Photoluminescence has emerged as a fundamental phenomenon in modern biomedical science, enabling advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and theranostic applications through light–matter interactions at the nanoscale. The ability of photoluminescent materials to absorb electromagnetic radiation and emit light at distinct wavelengths has been widely exploited in bioimaging, biosensing, drug delivery tracking, and photodynamic therapy. Among various photoluminescent nanomaterials, carbon nanodots have attracted significant attention due to their strong emission intensity, tunable fluorescence, …

Copper Sulfide Semiconducting Nanoparticles for Antibacterial Applications: Synthesis Strategies, Mechanisms and Performance – A Review
Abstract: Copper sulfide nanoparticles (CuS NPs) have drawn growing attention as a next-generation antibacterial platform, owing to their tunable structural, optical, and catalytic properties. This review consolidates current evidence on CuS NP synthesis, mechanisms, and antibacterial performance, comparing chemical and green synthesis routes alongside the effects of morphology, doping, and surface modification. Mechanistically, CuS NPs act through several overlapping pathways, including reactive oxygen species generation, bacterial membrane disruption, ion release, and …

Synthesis and Spectral Characterization of Complexes Tin(II) With 4-Nitrophenol
Abstract: Tin(II)4-nitrophenoxide complexes with the formulas SnCl(OC₆H₄NO₂-4) and Sn(OC₆H₄NO₂-4)₂ were prepared through the reaction of stannous chloride (SnCl₂) with 4-nitrophenol (HOC₆H₄NO₂-4) in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratios, respectively. The reaction was performed in tetrahydrofuran (THF) with diethylamine serving as the base. The resulting compounds were characterized through elemental analysis, determination of molecular weight, molar conductance measurements, and spectroscopic methods including IR and ¹H NMR spectroscopy. Current investigations are directed toward assessing …
